I'm posting a vocabulary/key expressions PPT to be used at the beginning of every period, and 3 games that you can play!

2 of the PPTs have instructions included, along with the Korean translations for the students.

Ninja game: Practices speaking/listening. Print out the blank ninja grid and hand out to your students to play. Instructions included in the PPT.

Price is Right: Practices writing/speaking/listening. I split the class into teams, and give them whiteboards. They put the boards in the air by the end of my countdown. I give a point to the team that has the closest number to the answer. Instructions included in the PPT.

Robot game: Practices writing skills. This is a code breaker game, where the students look at the symbols and translate them into the English words/sentences. The PPT contains the codes with the answer, while the MS document contains the codes with the key (for the students). I usually divide the class into teams, and give one code breaker sheet per team. I have the students work together, and they use a white board to write their answers. I'll count down when I notice most of them are finished, and the students need to put their boards up. I give a point to the teams that get the answer right, and have their boards up in the air on time.

Mario Wheel Bomb Game: Used this game template and quickly made the questions for the last period of this chapter (wrap up, period 7). Just a way to review the entire lesson! I always have my students form teams, and use white boards and markers to answer the questions. I make all teams write the answers. The team who's "turn" it is gets to spin the wheel and get the wheel prize, and other teams that answer correctly get 1 point. Teams that are incorrect either don't get 1 point, or cannot spin the wheel if it's their "turn."

Make a sentence grid game suitable for the first period.

(Cheers to the original creator. Found it on another thread and  tweaked it for this lesson)

For this lesson, I'm not gonna bother making my world famous slap game for period 1 as the domino / card game in the book seems decent enough. If someone else wants to make one then by all means go for it. As always, if/when I make more ppt's I'll edit this post & attach them here. Happy teaching!

Intro: Pretty self explanatory. (Ideal for the first period)

Period 2 Intro: Added some extra slides to review the key expressions. There's also some hidden slides to introduce the new expression "What ____ do you want?" for Period 3 as I plan to use the same intro for that period too. (Ideal for the second & third period) *BEWARE* Slide 7 has the wrong Korean translation, get your co-t to fix it before using it in class.

Minesweeper game: Grid based sentence making game. Students ask "How much are these _____?" And respond "They're ____ won." (Ideal for the second period)

Pass the Ball game: Instructions included in the PPT. (Ideal for the third period)

Sleeping Elephants game: Instructions included on the PPT, I always play sleeping elephants as a reading game but it can easily be used as a writing game too. (Ideal for the fourth or fifth period)

Halloween themed Telepathy game: Instructions included in the PPT, also uploading a worksheet to go along with it if you need it. Hopefully you don't have a bunch of big babies in your class as this game is downright spooky! LOL jk  (Ideal for the fifth period)

Here's my version of Human Bingo. Students walk around meeting other students in one-on-one conversations.
A: "How much are these ____?"
B: "They're ____ thousand won." -> according to the price in "My Shop"
A: "They're cheap. I'll take them." (if something on the bingo board matches the description)
OR "They're expensive" (if nothing on their bingo board matched the item/price they talking about).
After doing the dialogue, they write the name of the other person in the appropriate square (if possible), change roles and repeat, then find other partners. My students figured it out very easily, and it took them about 8 minutes to finish two-line bingo, excluding explanation/practice time.

Also, a stations activity based on someone else's template.

And here's an idea for the reading lesson that I got from a friend. Divide the class into 2/3/4 groups. They must compete to be first to write on the whiteboard the dialogue found on page 189. They must write one word at a time and then pass the marker and sit down. Change the dialogue a little, practice and repeat. It might not sound fun to adults, but my  students loved it and put a lot of effort into checking their team members' spelling etc.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for Kwai_Chang_Kain, I've updated his ppt for this lesson and revised it to for 3 periods with different expression points in lesson suited for my classes. Hope it can help others as well.

Happy teaching ^^

Word search and comprehension questions for the Story Pot.

Also, a Read and Write sheet from me to go along with Period 4. Could use it in Period 5 too I guess, or just whenever.

Also, an information gap activity I took from an older thread and edited to fit this chapter better. Kudos to the original creator ^^

Up/down guess the price game:

Print the answer sheet so that you can tell the kids up/down.

Are there supposed to be sound effects to go with the robot game? The sound is not working for me and I suspect it will make the activity even better if it did .... thanks

Gmarket Guessing Game

This is a game for chapter 3.  Break students into groups of 4.  Give each group a white board.  One student will start with the marker and ask questions and write down answers.  Show the ppt.  Students should guess the price and answer the second question.  For example:

S#1: How much are these?
S#2: They're 10,000 won. (Student 1 then writes the price)
S#1: What color do you want?
S#2: Green, please. (Student 1 then writes the color)

Once all students have been asked the questions and answers written down, show the real price and answer to the second question.  The student who is closest to the actual price will get 2 points.  If a student answered the second question correct (Q at the bottom of the slide) then they can get 1 point.  Then pass the board and marker to the next student.  They will ask the questions and write the answers.  There are 8 slides and 1 example slide.  It's more than enough.  It worked well and students really enjoyed it.  But, make sure they ask and answer in English.

My students have a hard time saying big numbers, so I redid this old worksheet I had about numbers from years ago.

I haven't used it yet, and I think it might be a lot of writing for them, but I am going to share now anyway.

If I make any changes, I will repost it.

Feel free to change it up for your classes.

On the back page on the bottom, I found pic of world currency symbols. It isn't the best one, but I got sick of redoing the worksheet so ....

On the side, I chose four common symbols, because if I remember correctly, the book goes between won and dollar. So next to the symbols there is a line and they are to write the name of the currency on the line.

That's about it. Happy teaching! I can't believe we are almost finished with the book this year!
