"In, on, under" was popular with my students last year. For preposition practice.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hx8i-Wq_jtc

This "Seven Up" game is also quite popular. Instructions in the ppt (uploaded by user welcombackkotter, Thanks!).

Here is a 4 corners game that I edited from another template found on the site. Some of the bomb's timing has some issues (nothing that would disrupt the game) but I am not skilled enough in Korean Powerpoint to fix this.

Here's an uber fun Avenger's themed Pass the Ball. Just in time for Avengers 2! I didn't make the orignal, just added in stuff to fit the lesson, so major props to whoever did.

The chapter is about possessives and prepositions.  For period 1, I have a possessive review, REMOVED and a prepositions "chase the vocab" game both adapted from other posters.

For period 2, here is a nice warm-up on possessives (you'll want to change or remove the last slides),  REMOVED and a prepositions ppt where students aim to make sentences based on the pictures. I also made a fill-in from the Look and Say conversation.

Period 3, a simplified version of  The Story of the Little Mole, which is an amusing story of mole searching for whoever pooped on his head.  I have students read aloud: one person, one slide.  I have my English Drop game, that I will use with whiteboards.  REMOVED

Period 4, Place Your Bets, a fun game, but it does involve some explanation the first time--instructions are on the PPT. Period 5, a possessives worksheet about family members w/ PPT.

Period 6, a similar possessives game to the period 2 warm-up.  Here is also a perpositions bomb game someone else made (though I changed up some pictures) and a yours/mine game.  REMOVED

Enjoy!

here is a board game i made to practice the key expressions for lesson 4.  i did not make the original game, and neither did the person whom i downloaded it from, so thank you to the original creator of this awesome game!!~  here is what the poster i downloaded from had to say:

Need an awesome board game that your kids will actually like??? Look no further!

This game features a well designed board and cards that the kids will draw when they land on special spaces. Thanks to whoever originally made the template! My kids loved it! Perfect as a replacement to that boring activity in period 2.

PPT contains the board, the game's cards, and an animated explanation of how to play the game. Enjoy!

(print page 3 for the board, for some reason page 4 prints incorrectly. I left it in there though in case anyone wanted to edit the board.)

my ppt file only includes 3 slides:  the game board, the cards [only the underside], and a key to display on the screen for students who have trouble making sentences on their own.  i used the font KG Happy Solid for the first and last slide, which you can download for free here: http://www.dafont.com/kg-happy.font.  for those who don't want to go through the trouble, i'm also uploading JPG versions of the ppt.

if a student lands on trade, it means they should trade places with the person in first place.  landing on the question mark means they should pick up a card from the pile.  landing on the arrow means they can slide to the corresponding box, and start over sends them back to start.  if they land on a picture space, students should try to make a sentence from the picture in the box using one of the key expressions.

if you want more of an explanation of the basic game rules, i suggest downloading themoge's version of it found at the link above, because their version of it has a visual explanation, though it's with that book's key expressions.

good luck~

Hi, this is a drawing and speaking game I played for a low level class - students can easily speak and understand through drawing.

And we also played the airplane game for the same topic : http://mrsbaiasclassroom.blogspot.kr/2015/04/target-practice-flying-airplanes-for-esl.html (scroll down in post to see whose is it lesson)

"Where are my things?"  PPT game

  • Students work in groups. Each group will have a turn to guess where an item is located in the room. If they guess correctly, they get 1 point.
  • The team who guessed correctly can then play "chance."  They will answer a "Whose ___ is this?" question. If they guess the correct character from the options, they get to roll a dice for more points. However, rolling a 6 means ALL POINTS are lost
Make sure to download the game show music for the "chance" slides. Just keep it in the same folder as the PPT.

5.4.1 Vocabulary and expressions introduction
Game is called the Grab Game. Use the picture to make a sentence. If it matches the pictures, students race to pick up an eraser.

5.4.3 Review/Warm up: see if students remember the dialogue from previous lesson. Do O/X quiz with the pictures--say a sentence and if it matches the picture students make an "O" with their hands.
Game is Heads up seven up. Print out the pictures for the game.

Here is a catch the sentence warm-up (I'm going to use it for period 4).  There are two copies of the slides in case the students need to see it one more time. At the end it get's a little harder with catch the scrambled sentence. Hope this helps someone! (Also, I didn't make the original PPT, just modified it for this lesson)

Here is a template for a classroom "clue" hunt.  I used it for period 4 / reading.  The "clues" don't add up to anything, but my students definitely didn't care - they had a lot of fun with it.

Students must search to find one of seven clues.  Once they find one clue, they can read a hint for where to find the next one, and the next one, and so on - so there is only a short period of random hunting, and the rest is reading.  On each clue is a picture of an item and three options for its owner.  Students copy the item, guess the owner, then take a sticker (to prove they read it with their own eyes, hehe).  At the end they get a point for each item they found and copied correctly, and an extra point for each owner they guessed correctly.

I put four clues in my classroom and three outside to keep the students spread out.  I have only nine students, and they're low level, so seven clues was perfect for playing individually in about 15-20 minutes.  This could easily be a team activity, though.  Print out the last two slides in the main PPT, cut them apart, affix enough stickers, and then hide.   Of course you need to change the locations to match where you will hide the clues.  I also printed the location at the top of each, because despite instructions, my students kept failing to put the clues back.
Missing a font for my materials?  Try these:
- Handfish Suite by Paul (http://www.waygook.org/index.php?topic=9060.0)
- Century Gothic, Segoe Print, & Berlin Sans FB (print-style sans serif, packaged with MS Office)

Fix the sentences ppt with seven sentences if you need a short writing activity.

I HAVE DELETED THIS LESSON AS IT IS BEING MONIIZED AGAINST THE CONTENT CREATOR'S WISHES.

I very much welcome an open source system and am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with the sites decision to charge for content. I uploaded content with the understanding that it would be used freely by other teachers and do not agree with it being monetized without my consent. Due to this change I have felt it best to remove my work.

Thank you for all those who have shared in the past and I hope the site will retract its new policy and return to an open community-led system.
