We started this lesson so early! haha
Here is our first lesson.
Firstly we reviewed the word "would". Not all the meanings but how to use it to invite.

For this lesson I've labelled the slap game for period 2 since I plan to play the card game out of the book during period 1. As usual if/when I make more ppt's I'll edit this post & attach them here.

Happy teaching!

Intro: Pretty self explanatory. (Ideal for the first period)

Slap game: Divide the class into two teams, 2 students come up to the front and have their back facing the TV screen with fly swatters. I ask them "Would you like to ____?" Both students then turn around & the first person to slap the correct picture on the TV using the fly swatter gets a point for their team. (Ideal for the first period or second period)

Period 2 Intro: Added some extra slides to review the key expressions. There's also some hidden slides to introduce the new expression "What can we do for them? / We can ____." for Period 3 as I plan to use the same intro for that period too. (Ideal for the second & third period)

Sleeping Elephants game: Instructions included on the PPT, I always play sleeping elephants as a reading game but it can easily be used as a writing game too. (Ideal for the fourth or fifth period)

Halloween themed Telepathy game: Instructions included in the PPT, also uploading a worksheet to go along with it if you need it. Hopefully you don't have a bunch of big babies in your class as this game is downright spooky! LOL jk  (Ideal for the fifth period)

Spongebob pass the marker game with a twist:

-Divide the class into teams (you can change it as you please and add more slides)
-Pass the marker, when the music stops, that student needs to read one of the 6 word blocks to reveal points.

* You can change the rules: I divided my class into 3 teams, passed the marker in team A, then Team B, etc, respectively to have students get points in their teams.
-You can just play a normal pass the ball game too and have 6 teams each choose a block every time the music stops.
- Easy to edit words/sentences.

My co-teacher and I are going to do a pictionary contest - each group chooses someone who'll draw and the other team members will try and guess.  Maybe about 10 pictures max, but with a time limit of two minutes each.  Haven't made the ppt yet but will upload when it's done.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for Kwai_Chang_Kain, I've updated his ppt for this lesson and revised it to for 3 periods with different expression points in lesson suited for my classes. Hope it can help others as well.

Happy teaching ^^

Here is a 4 stations activity that I used for the writing period.
Tips:
1) The first screen has no relation to the activity. It's left there in case you use ppt for explaining the activity (but there's really no need to use it; students get this activity easily. Basically, you can just print from slides 10 onwards and then ignore the ppt)
2) There's an error on the crossword (there's no 4 across - you can just tell your students to cross this out)
3) In my classes, 3 minutes is way too long. I recommend you start them off with 2:30 on an online timer like www.online-stopwatch.com and adjust if they are too fast/slow.

Basic reading/speaking game (using someone else's template) to fill 10 minutes.

Here is a review Hot Seat game, and a worksheet with Korean translations.  I tried to use more natural Korean translations than the book gives (the translation for "would" is useless).  I got help from a native Korean speaker but didn't have a chance for a final edit, so you may want your coteacher to look over it.  It includes both the "Would you like to..." and "We can..." phrases, so it's ideal for period 3 or after.

I also made a "dating" bomb game to review "Would you like to..." for the second period but the file is too big to upload.  Any tips to make it smaller?

I don't know about making the file smaller, but you could save the file into two separate files, then upload them separately.  I'd love to see this activity  :cheesy:

Story Pot questions and some review questions.

I used these questions to play a "hit the board" game.
You could use them for anything.
On the slides with pictures only, students have to make a sentence starting with:
Would you like to......

Hit the board:
I have a board with 8 blocks and a ball that sticks to the board.
I put options A B C D as well as bomb, and-2  -3  and -5  on the board.
Students have to read the question, choose the answer and try to hit the correct option.
I give 5 points if they manage to hit the correct answer.

They seemed to have enjoyed the game.

I used this last year, but I didn't make it. I used the PPT that was posted in the 5th grade book for chapter 11 and changed it for this lesson. Thanks to the original creator!

There shouldn't be mistakes on it.

When doing this lesson we looked at some of the other meanings of "would", (e.g. past of "will", used to, etc...)
They mostly knew the key sentences from here, so we didn't spend too long on this lesson.
