THE ninja game

My most successful creation.  Instructions are on the last slide.  Perfect for any age group.  If you are tired of bomb games this is what you want.  I sent out an older version a couple years ago to SMOE teachers.  This is updated...  now with extra ninjas!

Pokemon Telepathy Game

Choose a Pokemon and write down the word/sentence next to them. On the next slide, a Pokemon will come out of the Pokeball! If it's the one you chose, you get a point. A lot of the Pokemon are from more recent generations, since the younger students recognize them more. But if you have older students, feel free to switch them out for some more "true" Pokemon ;) Simple, double-sided worksheet is attached.

At the end of the PowerPoint are detailed instructions on how to edit it. If these are not enough for you or you have any other questions, leave a message here or PM me. This game is entirely my own, except for the images (which were taken from the internet) and the telepathy concept in general.

Totoro Bomb Game

There are two slides with embedded youtube videos, so you'll need an internet connection for them to work. However, the game is just as fun without them. Download and keep the music files in the same folder as the PPT if you can't get the music to work. I have also provided alternative "Change Points" slides in case the gifs are too much for your computer.

EDIT: Now available in widescreen!

K-Pop Boy Band Bomb Game
« Reply #124 on: November 25, 2014, 06:51:26 am »
Game specifically designed to interest 5th grade girls (I have some surly ones).  Good for 5th grade through middle school.

This game contains 18 questions; 3 rounds if 6 teams are playing.

The bands are B1A4, EXO and infinite.  There is an animated GIF and a 30 second music file that will play with each point slide or "bomb".  All points are clearly marked in each slide.

Trot music bombs: Trot music is the old Korean music Ajossis listen too.

Metalocalypse Nuclear bomb:  May be too graphic for some, there is an extra slide at the end you can replace it with.

Click on the GIF to go back to home.   or click red X if the wrong answer is given.

Enjoy!

Wow, this is awesome! Sadly, the trot music doesn't seem to be there. Any chance you could upload that separately?

I know that might be too much to ask!

Here is a general knowledge bomb game I made for after exam classes. Students choose a letter of the alphabet and each answer begins with that letter. Sutiable for any level, just change the questions to suit your need. I used this one for 3rd - 5th elementary.

Five Nights at Freddy's Bomb Game
« Reply #128 on: June 20, 2015, 06:22:22 pm »
This is my first attempt at making a bomb style game.

I've been able to successfully use some of the kpop bomb games to get my girls involved in lessons, but my boys have been rebelling lately due to the overabundance of kpop in class.

Luckily, one of my students mentioned that they like the game Five Nights at Freddy's.

I've tried to keep the game from being too scary as I don't want to alarm my CoT... but I anticipate the boys will enjoy this game.

I did attempt to embed some sound files, but I had some difficulty in getting them to work consistently. I also have no clue if they will work for anyone else as the files are located on my hard drive....

In any event, this commemorates my first ever post on Waygook!

+++WORK IN PROGRESS++++

I'm trying to make a new Jurassic Park/World bomb game. 'Incorporating' elements from MitchCraig's one, but trying to make it a bit more exciting with plenty of GIFs (perhaps to the detriment of a clear objective). I find the accumulation of bullets scoring not particularly exciting. I haven't figured out quite a few things yet - I thought about making it more of a find-all-the-items format (gun, bullets, car, motorbike etc) like the Survival Adventure ppt, but I am a beginner and that seems very complicated.  I teach primary school, so I don't want to make it too confusing with many different types of dinosaur either. It is probably less than 50% finished but I was hoping someone could take it over (as I'm going to be away for the next few months), clean it up, add to it, improve it etc. I have used a few mp3s rather than wavs, so fingers-crossed they work. At the moment, the Map (Isla Nubar) is to be the home slide with the letters A-Z (as you will see, only done a few at the moment); I haven't hyperlinked them yet properly either. The action sequence slides are at the bottom.  It's messy but I think it has some potential.

Finished AVENGERS Bomb Game
« Reply #131 on: June 29, 2015, 08:27:46 am »
FINISHED GAME!

It plays as a review game with 28 questions. Students are in groups of 6 with an Avenger mentor and have to defeat Hydra. Appearances by Loki, Ultron, and the Winter Soldier to cause trouble as well. All points and questions are editable. To close the game, select the small grey icon on the question page for the team with the most points for a "Congratulations, you beat Hydra. Well done team _____" with the team mentor from Nick Fury.

First two slides play like a movie. All instructions are in the information/notes box below the slides.

Attached is the game, the Avengers theme for slide one, and the stamp/punch sound for point slides.

If there are any problems, please send me a PM and I'll fix and repost right away!

ENJOY!

Kakaotalk Bomb Game

KAKAOTALK BOMB GAME

So this is my first time creating a bombgame, so it most likely has a few problems.

I've based the formatting of this game off Kyle Ludeke/Sprite06's designs. Mine still has a long way to go, but I put a lot of time and effort into taking screen shots and adding sounds to make it more like the Kakaotalk interface.

I played it with my students in grade 4 and they LOVED it.

Take a look, and tell me what you think. Feel free to change or add to it :)

NOTE: I've experienced problems with the alphabet screen. Sometimes when returning to this screen, the letters do not dissapear. If you know how to solve the problem, please let me know :( I'm not quite sure what is going on, because this problem occurs only half of the time.

Hi all,

First post.

Here's an in-progress all-purpose template that I sometimes use in my classes.
It's set up as an iPhone and has several apps.

Currently, only the quizzes are ready to use.
But if you are a bit savvy, feel free to use the YouTube and Line apps and adjust for your classes.

There are 2 quizzes in the phone's Quiz app.

Level 1 is a panel quiz. Basically, you get a question right and then choose a box. Boxes change color and there is a steal option. The team with the most boxes wins. It's a listening quiz game with only the scoreboard on the phone - i.e. you will need to prepare the questions on paper.
The instructions are all on the rules page, and in footnotes on the slide.

Level 2 is a bomb/typhoon-type game. Each box takes you to a question which then takes you to the points. No in-built time limit, but you may want to impose one in your class.
The theme is luck, so I usually give them a fortune based on their final scores ('big' fortune, 'middle' fortune, fortune, bad fortune)

Let me know if you have any questions or experience any issues.

Disney Villian Bomb Game

Hey I was bored during desk warming, so thought I would try creating my first bomb game. This is a Disney Villiam game, where helping the good guys actually harms you, you want the villians to gain points, etc.  I hope y'all enjoy. If you can make it better- please post that as well!  ;D

PPT Kim's Game

This simple game is useful for reviewing vocabulary. There is one plain template and one Spiderman template.

Before class, type one vocabulary word into each circle. You can delete circles if you like, but the game needs at least 9-10 words to be fun.

How to play:
- Elicit the words from the class. Tell the class they must remember where the 12 words are and give them about 15 seconds to try to do this.
- Have the whole class stand up and turn around to face the back of the classroom
- Click on a bubble - it will drop from view. Give the class a signal to turn around ("Go!")
- Students put up their hands and guess which word is missing
- When you get a correct answer, replace the circle using the numbered box
- Repeat
- Play in teams and give points if you like

Variation: don't replace the circles - the game will get quicker and more furious as the number reduces

'Gru's Factory' is a ppt quiz game that takes characters, sounds, and concepts from the Despicable Me / Minions films and combines that with the group vs. group mayhem of the classic 'Mystery Box' game.

Dude this rules! Thanks!

I made a Who Wants to Be A Millionaire game template. There are no questions in there.

The music and video should work, I added the tension music to the later questions, and the video at the beginning isn't cropped because my skillz still aren't up to that. You can just press space to stop the video after the theme tune or when Chris Tarrant says hello!

Mario / Spongebob Grid Game

This is a whole class game played in two teams. You can use it to practice any sentence where you have two variable words: i.e. He's in the first grade. / She's in the second grade. / We're in the sixth grade. It takes about 10 minutes and works best as practice. Don't use it in your first lesson on a structure as the students will be too cautious and the game will take too long.

Before the class: complete the empty spaces around the game board - the Mario version has an example.

During the class: practice the language by pointing to a square on the game board and eliciting / modelling the sentence with the whole class.

Divide the class into teams and give each team its colour. Write the team names on the whiteboard and ask you co-teacher to keep score.

Explain the rules as simply as you can. Teams must form rows of three, four or five in order to score 5, 10, and 20 points respectively. Blacked out squares can't be played.

Students from each team take it in turns to raise their hands and make a sentence. Place the board pieces by dragging  them from the top of the screen to the correct square. When all the squares are full up, the team with the most points wins.

IMPORTANT: the game pieces will not be draggable in full screen mode. So escape from full screen mode, reduce the menu ribbon and the exit the sidebar. This way the game will be almost full screen and the icons can be dragged.

Variation: print game boards and get students to play in pairs with pencil and eraser. The word file is attached for this purpose. The whole class version is good for modelling the language, but the pair version gives a lot more practice and is more fun.

Made a basic template for avalanche (combination of "telephone" and "sleeping elephants").  I normally play in teams of four, as beyond that it gets difficult and the kids get frustrated.  If you have kids with hearing difficulties, it's doable, but make sure they are assigned to be student number 1, so that listening isn't a requirement for them.
