After the PPT for "If You're Happy..." and explaining that happy will be yellow, sad/blue and red/angry I give each student a chopstick (Pinocchio's nose) and 10 tiny pieces of straw (red, yellow and blue).
Students hold all the pieces of straw in one hand except for one (held in the other). Students then go around and try to guess the color of their classmates straw by using "Are you happy/sad/angry." If right the response is "Yes" and the student must give the other student their straw: "This is for you" . "Thanks". If wrong they must say "This is for you" and give one of theirs. "Thanks."
Students can then have a competition to see who will have the biggest nose like Pinocchio as they add straw to their chopstick.
After several minutes have them sit down and tape off the thin end of their chopsticks so the pieces of straw don't fall off.
Students can then pair up and tell each other their feelings in order on their noses. Who is the angriest/saddest/happiest in the class.
Co-teachers need to ensure safety before chopsticks are given.
