SCARY Short Films for Halloween
« on: October 12, 2016, 11:48:46 AM »
I found some videos that I think is appropriate for middle school kids and all levels of English can enjoy them. They are really scary so be warned. They are short and sweet so you can show them after your lessons throughout the month. Most of these are made from the same people, they are amazing. Share some more vids if you find any!

Yeah, my kids love the vids that ponysmasher has on youtube. Their favorites are "Lights Out" (you've already posted the link) and "Pictured" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nt9D55oZCnE).

Thanks for "2AM" and "The Whisperer". I was looking for more short horror vids that are easy to understand without English.

Thanks for suggesting these... My classes loved them. I like that they have little to no English but are pretty scary. My third grade class were covering their eyes and screaming.

Here's a scary story PPt I put together based on the Korean horror story "The Ghost of Bongcheon-dong"

Hi guys,
I can't remember on which website I found the orignal lesson plan but since I couldn't download the ptt I made my own. It's based on the short horror film called Suckablood (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fw4gwwS-nFI). Basically the kids watch the film, fill in the gap fill and answer questions from the ptt all the while getting scared silly

Stop the video after the first 28 seconds on the title page and discuss the questions from the ppt.
Stop the video at 1:33 after the mother has said the curse and fill in the gap fill and then discuss the predictions.
Stop the video at 2:16 after Tilly has climbed to her room "at the top of the house".
Stop the video at 3:02 just when the Suckablood's fingers appear from under the bed.
Stop the video at 4:35 when Tilly's "tiny hear froze."
Watch to the end and discuss.
Watch once more this time without pausing it.
