PPAP game (reupload)
« on: November 10, 2016, 08:31:05 PM »
Hello all. Happy to finally share my first homemade original PPt game.

This is the game I was having trouble with making a few weeks ago and posted here seeking help. I never found a perfect solution to what I wanted, but found a way to create something decent and make it work. I held off on sharing it until all of my open classes were finished, but now that those are done...I'm ready to share it.

It works basically like the Angry birds game (assemble/gather this and that to win the game). There is no " bomb". It also uses the font from the previously shared pokemon game ( that font is included in the zip)

It was my first attempt so none of the sounds are embedded. The .zip file includes all the sounds, videos, font...etc. If anyone with more experience than myself can assist with fixing this up ( see my previous post about the trouble I was having) that would be appreciated.

Check the last few slides of the presentation to see all the notes/rules..etc.

Enjoy~

This is so awesome!! Well done on making it and it was your first! I know my students would love this.
Unfortunately I only have power point 2010 on my computer at school. Is there anyone who knows how I could get the sound clips to work?

The sound clips work with 2010 ( assuming as mentioned in the notes, you have all of them in the same folder as the game.

The only thing that doesnt work with 2010 are the fruits disappearing on the home screen after clicking.  That is an issue with 2010 ( too many slides following the clicked fruit lead to the triggers not working). The way I got around that was just drawing a grid like the home screen on the board with dots instead of fruits, and just erasing them from the board as students selected them. Otherwise, everything else works with 2010

I wanted to teach ppap song to the 1st grade students.  I asked my co-teacher if they already knew this song and whether I'd be wasting my time prepping it for the lesson.  He said I should not teach it because according to the internet discussion boards, ppap song has a hidden sexual meaning and therefore should not be taught to students.

I'm thinking that the horse dance in Gangnam style can also be interpreted as being sexual - no?

PS.  The more I think about it - the more I see what Koreans mean.  The sound the singer makes when 'connecting' pencil and apple' may indeed be construed as being sexual - so the sexual innuendo is certainly there.  Then again, when I asked the same teacher if Gangnam Style was OK, he said yes.  Meanwhile, when you consider the horse dance while singing gangnam style - as opposed to let's say 'doggie style' - one has to be purposely ignorant not to see that there is a similar sexual innuendo in that song (not to mention plenty of half naked chicks in the music video).

Agreed. Teachers in my company were told just last friday to not use the game or song because of such a rumor.

And I think your mention of Gangnam Style touches on something that I personally believe is behind this " rumor". Considering the artist is " Japanese" and has a viral hit....well..let me just leave it at the artist being Japanese. Anyone here for more than a few months can fill in the rest.

Kind of bummed I can't even use the game I spent more than 20 hours creating...but in the end I was able to use it for my open classes before the "warning" came out ( wanted to do something totally new for the kids) and learned alot about making PPT games in the process. In the end, it all worked out well.

That just about covers it.
You can find sexual innuendos (or about 50 other 'hidden' messages) anywhere you go, if you spend enough time trying to find them.  Hell, this song could be a part of the illuminati - all you need to do is to get the illuminati conspiracy freaks to analyze it long enough.

Anyways, it is what it is.  The Dokdo chronicles continue

But yes, I highly recommend everyone to make at least one game template just to figure out how PPT games are made.  It's a good skill to have.

My school was fine with it. It was very easy for my students but it was a fun time filler all the same! Ya, you can find dark meaning everywhere you look. Just look at any modern day fairy tale or nursery rhyme. They can still be very effective tools for teaching some language. I also had my students correct his english because I get very grumpy with them about articles. Thanks for the game, sorry you were not able to use it more!

Can you please show where it was your idea...because it sounds like you are accusing me of stealing your idea or game~

I can show the preliminary ppt made, ( prior to it being a pptm macro-enabled) the notes i made on paper to order the mystery boxes/prizes, and well as the several versions i uploaded, corrected, reuploaded and shared to my company.

Its probably not a new " idea".  In my case I was driving a friend to the train station Saturday night...the idea came to me to make a ppap game. I spent 2 hours that Saturday night, and about 14 hours the next day making this template ( also asked for help on this forum)
Some hours after that making changes with the help of the assistant...etc.

You are reading something into what I wrote that isn't there.

What I was saying is, this is my version of YOUR original game.

I wasn't accusing you of anything.

I thought it was a good game template and just changed a few things to make simple silly combinations similar to the song.

I'm pretty sure you forgot to attach your version with your post, hence his reply.

The 'sexual innuendo' comes from the stupid Lotteria commercial which rips it off - '19cm cheese stick'
