Comic Book Lessons
« on: December 19, 2016, 04:31:21 PM »
I made this to replace the boring book reading lessons when I had the time for it. Spider-Man was aimed at 5th grade and Yotsuba& was aimed at 4th grade. Spider-Man has a vocab pre-teach to go with it.

Method:

Have the students read the comic quickly by themselves and answer a basic question about it. (e.g. Yotsuba&: Where are they? What are they doing?) Then give the students the worksheets and let them work in pairs, groups w/e to complete the worksheets.

I forget the exact lesson number but these make good fillers too if you don't want to design a whole lesson around them.

I tried translating the questions after the Spider-Man comic into Korean. But they aren't checked. My class had an extremely hard time understanding those questions in English so I recommend looking over them.
