Our free semester English programme was called "Cultural English".
I only had some very vague guidelines going in so the materials are a bit haphazard. The idea was to cover a little bit of South African culture etc. and do some kind of group activity in each 90 minute lesson. The programme was 8 weeks long.
I'll just attach everything here and you can do with it as you please.
For Week 1 to Week 4, I borrowed heavily from previous materials about South Africa from this site (thanks for your thorough work, fellow countrypeople!). I broke it down and adapted it to suit the format of the programme.
I sometimes used fonts I downloaded here:

Getting them into groups took long and they were reluctant to speak to students that weren't in their homeroom classes so it took a lot of coaxing. The "personality quiz" came in handy in one of the classes where there weren't many students and we finished a little too early to warrant "free time".
