This is a lesson on emoticons. It teaches students the feeling or action associated with each Korean emoticon, as well as the western equivalent. Sometimes I wrote that there isn't a western (I said American because that's where I'm from) equivalent, but if you are aware of one, feel free to edit it to reflect that. As we went, I had the students act out each of the feelings and periodically review all of them ("What was emoticon #1? #2?" etc.).
One of the slides is a link to a McDonald's ad with emoticons and the students have to shout out the emoticons they see as the video goes on.
The emoticons handout is used for the game at the end. The students have 15 seconds (or as long as you want) to memorize three words (eg. bored, sleepy, kissing). When time is up, they turn over the paper and have to write down these three words. When they are finished, the teacher calls out three emoticons at random. For each one that the students have written down, they are given three points. I gave chocolate to the students with the top three scores and it went over really well.
