hot potato or bomb timer
« on: April 11, 2017, 06:49:56 PM »
Does someone have a website for a timer that goes off at a random time for a pass the bomb or hot potato type activity.  I've  been looking everywhere, but can't find a site with a timer that you don't have to pre-set the time for. Thanks

I know, I know I shouldn't, but I'm going to suggest powerpoint anyway, with a remote control pointer.

Not random but it's a hot potato game. You have to click to stop the music but you can do it if you have a clicker or just so that the students don't know when you're going to click it.

I don't remember where I got this but the elementary kids absolutely love it.

I thought this was a good idea so I edited my favourite pass the bomb template to use a random number generator. You can change the minimum/maximum number of seconds on the last slide.

I use PowerPoint 2010, and I'm afraid I'm not sure if it will work in other versions of PowerPoint. Let me know if you try it out.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.  Palustris I downloaded your PPT and I'm using powerpoint 2010, but the bomb seems to always be setting off at 25 seconds.

Hmm, sorry to hear it's not working. I've tried it again and it works okay here.

I made a version that should display the number of seconds on the bomb slide. If you have a chance, let me know - is the number always 25, or does the animation just not correspond to the number?
