Conversation Game Ideas!!
« on: April 18, 2017, 04:10:41 PM »
I have seen a lot of games which can be altered to fit new vocabulary lists. But how about games which can be flexible for using different phrases and small conversations.
For example, the textbook phrase I have to teach this week is "Are you sure about that?" and I am trying to think of different ways to use this phrase in a game.

Any ideas?
And other games which require more speaking (not just memorising vocab) ?

Thanks!

You can try doing some sort of a roleplay game or mad-libs game! Using old and new vocabulary. Depending on the age and proficiency of your students, you can give them scripts where they fill in the blanks with new vocabulary words and then act them out.

I've also tried playing board race games where they have to write a word and then make a sentence with the word to be able to get a point. It forces them to remember not only vocabulary, but also how to make a sentence using the vocabulary. It's also fast in case you don't have any prep time.
