Here is a Spy Game I created.
Its an adapted version of similar games (like Zombie finder) however I find this is the best way to get the students to use the target language. It is a speaking game.
You can find instructions in the power point but to explain:
1. Each students is given a square (this can either be a number or you can print the target language on the piece of paper - however if you plan on using this game in multiple lessons I would recommend laminating the number and spy cards so you don't have to keep printing and cutting.) They must not show anyone their card.
2. They have to look at the screen to see what expression they will use. There will be a question e.g. "Where are you from" and depending on the students number they will respond with a different answer "I'm from Korea" or "I'm from America" etc.
3. The students must use the expression that corresponds to their card UNLESS they are 'THE SPY'. If they are 'the spy' they can say any of the expressions on the board.
4. The students must walk around and ask the question. If the person responds with a different answer to them they say "bye" and walk away.
If the person responds with the same answer they become a team. The aim is to find 3-4 people with the same answer.
5.Once the students have formed a team of 3-4 they go to the teacher and show their cards. If they all have the same number/ expression they get a point or a candy (up to the teacher). HOWEVER, if they have a spy in their group the Spy gets 2 points or candys and the other students get none.
I have created 2 versions of this game.
The 'spy' version.
The 'Voldermort' version. (Same game but instead of a spy you have to beware of Voldermort.
