Cute kids songs for a performance?
« on: May 04, 2011, 08:01:00 AM »
It's that time of year again: The Annual English Dog & Pony Show, A.K.A: So You Think You Can Dance (And maybe speak a little English)?

We have this district wide song & dance competition every year and everyone wigs out and acts like it's the Olympics. I'm in charge of finding a song. I have no idea where to begin. Anyone have some cute/fun song resources we could peek at?

Bonus points for songs that are kind of 'cool' or not completely awful. I'm going to have to listen to it some seven zillion times between now and June.

At my school's festival, the students performed songs from the curriculum.

You didn't mention what grade/level the song is for....

If it's 3rd or 4th grade, I would think about doing a simple ESL song with a choreographed routine. There are about a million on Youtube.

If it's 5th or 6th grade, I'd recommend a easy pop song. Three my students do (the first video is the first rehersal)-

(just don't let them see the video)

There's a whole pop song thread running around here somewhere.

Best of luck.
