So, will we fire an Indian or a Korean for speaking English with an accent?  It would be a violation of one's civil rights.  He spoke Korean and the locals just didn't want a foreigner working for them.  The point is no matter how many hoops are set up to jump through, you will always lose in the end as a non Korean.

if i were in Canada, i would also not hire a Chinese guy, or a Guatemalan  over a native Canadian.  Wouldn't you?

You know, some of us have foreign friends in the professional circles and well, they aren't in the same boat. One of my friends who is a total foreigner recently led a business meeting with a bigwig that was well-received.

You know what he doesn't do? Sit on his duff all day complaining about the system, while never actually doing anything and trying to claim small victories from things like bank ladies being in awe of his used Hyundai Grandeur.

Well, someone better get in touch with that high school student that wrote that original letter to the Prez and tell them they need to update it and send it to Yoon, not Moon, and soon!

Also, I think adding in some more details like "I really enjoy the fall and love eating songpyeon at Chuseok" and "My favourite food in the world is now bosintang" would pull even more at his heartstrings.  Then finish the letter with the "Daehan Minguk" chant followed by "Dokdo Forever."

That should do it.  Maybe squeeze in something about how your relationship with your K gal is going real good.  If you have a picture of the two of you in Hanbok he'll probably hire you as English as a Second Language Foreign Consultant.  Don't forget us little people.  Standing on shoulders and all that.
