Hi everyone,
I recently learned that I would be switching from teaching middle school to university in 2 months, so I thought I would start the process of uploading my more successful lessons for the benefit of my fellow waygookins. I hope these lessons help you out!
This is a lesson I designed to help my students become more familiar with the phrases, "I wonder..." and "I haven't got a clue..." I used the textbook Middle School English 3 by 권오량, but the lesson can be adapted to fit other textbooks or be taught as an independent lesson.
After a short intro to the phrase at hand, I split my class into 4-5 teams and handed each a small whiteboard placard. I gave Team 1 the chance to pick the first question, Team 2 the chance to pick the 2nd question, etc. Teams would then choose an answer and write it down, or choose to write "I haven't got a clue." After counting down "5, 4, 3, 2, 1!" and having students raise their placards, I had one representative from each team read their answer. The appropriate number of points were then awarded.
I have attached an answer key; you may want to change some of the questions. (For example, one asks when my birthday is, and I doubt your students will really care...) Also, some are time-sensitive (like how old Donald Trump is), so you may want to double-check on such questions before using the PPT.
I think it should be pretty straightforward, but please comment if there are any problems!
