Desperately needs sound.

Seems like sound-less ppts are turning into a trend with the newer ppt makers

Super cute template!!!! <3

For me, I hate PPTs with sound. It's more of a distraction and makes me talk louder in the classroom (above my already noisy students)...so if a PPT does have sound I usually turn off my speakers.

I haven't figured out how to add sound very well and most of my games I use with an afternoon class of 6 students. They don't really like sound and usually turn the sound all the way down when a game has it, the only time they haven't done that was when I did the BTS game so I haven't bothered to learn how.

Well, I have plenty of time on my hands today. Though I don't use bomb games, if I were to edit this, here's an example of how some of the slides would sound like -

If you wish to learn more about PPT sounds and how to add them, let me know.
It's a one day offer (err... until 4:30pm today), since I'll be too preoccupied starting next week.

Sure I wouldn't mind learning. I'm stuck desk warming today too. And even though my kids now don't like sound, future kids might like it.

Right - well then.

First you need to find the music/sounds you want to use.
For game like this, you want happy music, so you look for happy background music on youtube.  https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=happy+background+music
Then you look for sound effects - just type in 'points sound effect' and you'll get a bunch of results on youtube.

Then you want to convert the youtube sounds into mp3 format.  This site does the trick, but there are many others - https://www.onlinevideoconverter.com/ko/mp3-converter

Then you want to insert the audio into your ppt - err... on my school computer, I only have the Korean version of PPT.  It's under the sabib option.
Then you want to remove the unnecessary bits from the mp3 file - you left click on the inserted file and new options should become available in the top area of the PPT.  You pick jeseng and there pick 'audio trimming'.  Pick the start and end - the rest will be discarded.

Then you open the animation panel.  There you pick where you want the sound file to go.  In the example file I've just posted, I made the music file play from the beginning of the slide (again, you can clearly see this in the animation panel).  The rest of the files and sound effects are also set to play from the beginning of the slide, but with delays.  In other words, the first cupcake appearance/sound are set to appear/play 0.1 second after the music file starts playing.  The next cupcake/sound effect are set to appear/play 1 second later, etc.

If you have any other questions, let me know.

Cherios.

;D Thanks!! I'll play around with adding sound to make my game and see how it goes!

It was mostly with getting the audio I was having trouble with, where to find it and the converting it to mp3 format, before coming to Korea I never used PPT and it took me months of analyzing other peoples games to figure out how to make a game in the first place and I saw where they added audio but like I said I didn't know how to get it but now I can figure it out so thanks a lot.

Yep - anyways, youtube is a goldmine for sound effects and music - it may still take a while to find the sound effects you want/need but after you make a few games, you'll have a substantial library.
