Here's a worksheet that worked well in class. Part A is just a fill in the blanks for the video on Page50. Part B accompanies the video I will post as well. The video is a virtual tour of the Simpson's house. I had them put in order the rooms as we move through them, Calling out "This is number 3...This room is for number 4..." etc

Where's Spongebob? game. It works kind of like Where's Waldo? I filled the rooms in the house with cartoon characters and had the students find Spongebob and say, "He is in the ___." They got into two lines and the front two people raced to find SB and say the sentence. Whoever won sat down; whoever lost went to the back of their line. The first line with all team members sitting wins.

Also this video: Not quite perfect, but the "in my room" part is catchy, so the kids will get that stuck in their heads!!

Here's a typhoon game I made for this chapter.  Students basically practice saying "I'm blanking in the blank."  Hmmmm, that sounds a little dirty.  What I meant was, "I'm cleaning in the kitchen," or "I'm eating in the dining room."  Enjoy!

This is connet 3or 5 game...
they say...oois in the ---(place) with maring O or X
connet 3/5 continuosly...

I have included a vocabulary ppt (incl. spelling), as well as a 1st period wrap up, a 2nd period review, and instructions for the talk & play game. Hopefully you can use these for the 2012 school year.

Apologies, I don't remember who I got this from last year.... :-[

This is a game modified from the house lesson in last year's 5th grade book.  Each first slide is a cut-out of the following picture.  Have the students guess which room it is.  I am doing this for the intro lesson, so to make it more fun, the students will cut out the "cards" from the second ppt.  Each student will then get a set of disposable chopsticks, and make two paddles to hold up when they want to guess the answer.  The hope is to get everyone participating, not just one or two students at a time.

Hope this helps.   :)
