This is what I did for the first week for this topic: I am going to ...
There's an intro PPT and a game i made up where the class is divided into two teams.
The students race each other Korean -> English. I usually put a max of 3 times of winning before the student has to sit down.

Instead if doing the textbook activity, I'll have my students find a partner and ask what they are going to do at various dates in the future. They then fill in the blank for each future date. Have them write in complete sentences. A lot of my students won't unless I tell them they have to.

This is my second lesson. On top of "What are you going to do?", we're doing "Where are you going to go?".
PowerPoint introduces the language.

For a writing activity, they can make their own "dream trip". They will write where they are going to go and what they are going to do.

The board game I made is inspired by the one in the textbook. Because I don't have dice at my school, I made cards that they draw to move. You'll have to cut those out and save them if you don't have dice. For each space they land on, they have to speak 2 sentences or they don't earn points. Most points wins. Pretty straightforward.
