MASH Lesson Plan

I made this as an extra lesson for my 5th and 6th graders once we were done with the text. It's a powerpoint explaining the game M.A.S.H. (from the 80's, remember?).  It's essentially a game that tells your future (where you'll live, what you'll drive, how many kids you'll have, etc.)  I went through the slides, did an example game on the board, and then had the students pair up and play. One student is the recorder who asks the questions and writes the answers, then they switch roles and play again.
If you don't remember how to play, you can google it. (too much to write out, but it's simple).

I tried to open the file for this lesson but it didn't work on my computer. I made my own PPT for the MASH game. It went over really well with my 4th grade students. I think 5th and 6th would enjoy it too.

I also attached the worksheet for the students.

This was our FAVOURITE rainy day activity. Good call!! You forgot the BEST category though - BOYS!  :laugh:

Small change, made a new student template with two templates on the paper instead of one to  save paper.

This is one of my FAVORITE lessons to do with my 5th and 6th grade elementary students!  I spend about 20 minutes playing the game on the board.  I have the students help me come up with 4 items for each topic.  Then I have one student come to the board and draw the ticks while  I close my eyes and say "stop."  Then we count through the categories together.  They get a huge kick out of it! Especially if I end up marrying Moon Jae-in, living in space, driving a toy car, and having 10,000 kids in my future.  Then I pass the paper around so they can do it on their own for the remainder of class.  I go around the class and interact with the students.  It's really a fun time for all!
