This is for Lesson 4 Listen & Talk 1 "I'm planning to visit ____ in _____."

I haven't taught this lesson yet but figured out put it out there.

I'm planning on doing pages 60 & 61 with activity C just speaking practice.

I'll then go through the ppt getting the kids to make up their own as we go along and say them for the class and giving them ideas of what they could say.

Then we'll play the game.

I was introduced to this game recently but some friends who teach elementary and figured it could work well.

I will print out some sentences and hang them at the back of the class, there will be two rows for the two teams.
- there is also an instruction slide in the ppt.

The point of the game is for the teams to start on either side. One child from each team will start reading the sentence in front of them and when appropriate turn to their own team for them to ask "What are you going to do there?" and then read the next sentence as the answer. They continue reading until the two students meet and rock paper scissors, the loser has to go in the back of the line of their team and the winner continues down the row of sentences. Someone else on the losers team will start reading when they lose. Once they reach the end, they get a point and someone else starts reading at the beginning again.

Hope that works as an explanation.

This is for Lesson 4 Listen & Talk 2 "How can I get to the _____ from here"

I will through pages 62 but I don't plan on doing page 63 C. I've done almost the exact lesson for another class and it works really well, the kids get so into it!

I've attached the powerpoint that I got from Johanna L. Haas Textbook, Grade 2 Lesson 3. Whoever made this powerpoint needs a lot of thanks because it's absolutely wonderful! There is also a worksheet but we've never had time for it.
