Part One.

I originally found this lesson plan, ppt and activity here on Waygook so credit to the original creator.

Since this chapter focuses on "I will" grammar, I used this lesson from MS 2nd Grade and adapted it for this chapter. I started with the Bucket List/ My Dreams PPT, then paused it to watch the trailer for "Bucket List" with Korean subs( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7MiZIForU8 ).

After short practice with the sentence stems, I played Hot Seat (included in PPT).

After Hot Seat, I divided them in groups or pairs (I would do bigger groups for lower level students, pairs for higher levels) and had them do the "Musical Sentences" activity (I pulled up a random english song on youtube. If you could save it to your computer, that would be more ideal, since the students sometimes pay more attention to the music video than the activity).

After the Musical Sentences, I gave each group a blank sheet of paper, pulled up a slide with all the sentence stems and displayed it on the board, and had them use the sentence stems to make their own bucket list. You could use a timer or a Youtube song to time them. The group with the most sentences (complete and that make sense!) at the end wins.

This took up an entire 45 minutes more or less, depending on how long the students take to make the sentences.

Instructions are in the "Lesson Layout" file. Google Drive links below.

Part Two.

All materials were originally uploaded by other users and edited to suit my lesson, so credits to the other users.

PPT has a quick warm-up riddle and some review slides. Use the last slide to play "pass the ball" (I have it as "pass the popsicle" because I have a cute, plushie watermelon popsicle that I use instead of a ball, and the students love it). Play a random English song while they pass the ball around the class, stop the song randomly. The person holding the ball when the music stops has to answer the question "what's your plan for this year?" using the grammar "I will". For lower-level students, there are some examples on the slide.

After that game, have all students stand up and make a circle to play "Down By The Bay" (instructions in Lesson Layout).

After 3 rounds of Down By The Bay, I played a Kung Fu Panda Bomb Game.

This lesson took 45 minutes, more or less.
