I use the Super Simple Learning channel's "Broccoli Ice Cream" song a lot for this lesson so I made a review activity for mid-term periods where I have some downtime in class. I call it "Make a Yucky Food".
Have the students brainstorm 2 foods they like before you tell them what they'll be doing. Having them write them down is a good idea.
Then tell them that they'll be combining those 2 foods and drawing an example. Help them by writing the names they don't know in English on the board.
I've included a ppt with examples like "apple cheese pie" and "ice cream soondae" with pictures.
