What does 'warning level' mean on a person's profile?

That means you were given a warning concerning some violation to our policies.  At 50 percent you lose the ability to post but can read posts just fine.  Warning levels go down over time.  If you have any more questions feel free to send a message to a mod and have a fantasticly awesome day!

I got a warning too. But I had 5 posts a few days ago and now its back to 4. It keeps doing that but the warning level is the same.

So should I take this to mean that you get warnings for posting totally pointless comments? I have no intention of doing this, but I am brand new to this site (like so many others) and simply need to make the 5 comments to get started.

My guess would be that your warning was for posting empty, and pointless things just to get your five posts...and then...a moderator deleted one of your pointless posts and you went back to four.  I'm just guessing...but for your post count to reduce...a post would have to be deleted.

Correct. If you make an empty post that floods an important topic, say an elementary lesson thread, it will be deleted.  If you make numerous empty posts, they will be removed, and you will be issued a warning.  If you receive 3 warnings you will be banned.
