The normal intro PPT from me plus a slightly different Connect 4 game from the one uploaded earlier. Be sure to check this post every now & again as I'll be editing it if/when I make more files for the later parts of the lesson.

All Periods Intro: Pretty self explanatory. (Ideal for all periods)

Connect 4 game: Divide the class into 2 teams (Yellow VS Red), students either ask or answer "May I take your order?" or "I'd like _____." in order to place their teams colour marker in the square. (Ideal for the first or second period)

Vocabulary loop and connect four game:

This lesson was part of my open class at my second elementary school, so my coteacher and I put a lot of thouht into this lesson!

First class, we listened to the Taste song (맛송), and reviewed the vocabulary.

Then I taught them "Food Around the World". I then had "level reading" to help memorize and had a short multiple choice quiz. Team with most points can win a prize/reward.

The next class period, we used the "Food Around the World" information for two reading activities.

First was the Food Guessing Game. I give simple one word clues about a food and they guess the food learned in "Food Around the World".

Then we had a "running dictation" type of reading game. My coteacher printed and cut out all the food names, pictures, and 4 sentences for each food item from "Food Around the World". She placed them in different sections around the room. To start, each group randomly picks 2 foods from a bag. This is their food assignment for the activity. When we say go, one team member at a time must search for the key facts about the food from the sections around the room. First team to complete their boards with all relevant facts wins points.

This is an "odd letter out" game.  Students are asked to pick out the incorrect letter in each phrase.  The answers are

Yikes... just so you guys know, the Korean flag in the Shape Bingo that was posted earlier in the thread was both inverted and had the shape in the middle flipped 90 degrees. I fixed the flags on the materials and am re-uploading them with the other changes I made for my classes. I recommend using these versions for obvious reasons.

I also made some changes to the Surviving Waiter game after playing it with my kids today. I thought the game was great and the kids seemed to have fun once they got the hang of it, but I think the reverse logic of the instructions (a circle = cross out a life) really confused both my classes. I decided to change the instructions of the game so now they cross out 3 items and it means the restaurant is sold out. If the other student asks for that item, they lose a life for it being sold out (so an X on the menu = put an X over the skull). I think this might be less confusing to the kids.
