I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to apply tlo particular public schools? Is there no other way than just applying to EPIK or GEPIK and letting them assign you wherever they want to? I have some interest in working in a public school, but I'm married, my husband works in Pangyo, and we're wanting to stay in the Seongnam/Yongin/southeast Seoul area. So I wouldn't want to be sent some place like Jinju or something.

You can try some job boards like Dave's esl cafe or on Facebook. I always see a lot of privately hiring public school jobs through my old recruiters (Korvia) website. They have a tab for their job board, it's mostly hagwons a lot of the time but a month or so ago I saw like four gepik public schools hiring in one area so maybe you'll luck out.

Yeah just look for private public schools. That's what I did. Worknplay or even Craigslist have ads sometimes. Plus Facebook groups

I've been seeing a lot of public school jobs lately, though it prob doesn't help you specifically. Sorry. (But useful to others.) China ad contact - h.alice145@gmail.com I have no stake in these. Just found them. Decent pay with cheaper living cost and free accommodation. Can save a lot more money than in Korea. If public school or EPIK passes you over, there are other jobs out there.
