My favorite by far was a university student in a class I taught in China. Her name was Food. I laughed and said that was a great name and asked why she picked it. She gave me the only acceptable answer in my opinion.

I like food!

Yes, Chinese also have their fair share of weird names, taught at an English Centre there for University graduates and professions and this one lady's name was Qirl. She couldn't tell me why she had that name, just that some teacher had given it to her, so we sat down over a meal and came up with a much better name, Alisa.
There is no known medical cure for stupidity!

Julia, what's wrong with Julia?

It was a boisterous 6th grade boy who gave himself this name... really smart and fun kid.
