Online Teaching advice
« on: March 05, 2021, 11:08:31 am »
Hi everyone

I am a TaLK scholar from South Africa and I am currently doing my second year with the program.
I know after two years you don't get a turn to be part of the program anymore and I just need some advice about getting into online teaching when I finish my contract here.

I know there's Epik and all but I only have SA Diploma and I just started my Degree so I unfortunately don't qualify at the moment, so I thought to make some extra money for school fees and etc I'd get into online teaching, does anyone know if that's possible and is it a good idea?

Or if you know of any of the requirements, any information about this really would be helpful.
Thanks

I've never done it personally, but I coulda sworn you still needed a diploma for most of the online teaching jobs as well. Maybe you could do some online tutoring though. Maybe via iTalki or TakeLessons (I found a Korean tutor through them when I was still in the US and she was great). I feel like you don't need a degree for most tutoring sites, at least.

Check out reddit online English teaching, there are lots of people without degrees teaching online, albeit for very low wages
