Since most of the threads have revolved around American politics lately and frankly of no interest unless you are from the US, I decided to post this video, for discussion.

I know that age gap relationships/marriages are pretty much taboo in East Asia but in S E Asia they are pretty common and many people have very strong feelings about this.

I found this young lady's take on it interesting. For the record my wife and I have a 20 year age difference and we have been happily married for 11 years now.  When my principal in Korea found out about us, she was horrified, but when my wife actually arrived in Korea and they met, they became the best of friends and my principal totally accepted her and our age gap and even wanted to attend our wedding in SA.

Of course there are men that abuse this and of course there are ladies that abuse this too, but many don't and have long and successful marriages. A lot of the time it is because the man provides financially and emotionally for what the lady wants and the man gets a companion that he has always wanted.

What if you're still here from being sort of young and are around the 40 hub?  (Is that old?) 

If younger women in their 20's and 30's are attracted to you, what can a guy do?  Is it his fault?  Not really!  Attraction is attraction.  Folks should get a life, rather than bitch out of jealousy.

I didn't come to Asia to find a wife, it just happened, we met, fell in love and here we are. She was very poor and frankly had a bleak future, now she has a nice house on her name, I paid for her kids to go to private schools and colleges and one day when I die she will be financially secure for the rest of her life. What did I get in return? A fantastic wife who loves me unconditionally and we have a great time together, so I think it is a win-win situation.

96% of people in Korea are Korean. Half those are women. With wayg groups it's very casual, you grab drinks in groups and you get to know people slowly over time. It's also easy to **** up a small town's wayg meetings by dating/breaking up and sleeping around with the small group of waygs available. I'm not saying people don't do that, of course they do, but I can go on a dating app here and there are hundreds of Korean women I can take out once for a coffee and see what happens. And if it sparks, it sparks, and if it doesn't it doesn't.

Dating around and sleeping around in your wayg group has a lot of consequences for the small community you're in. Dating Koreans online has ZERO consequences and is easy as hell.

And this is just looking at things clinically and pragmatically. Most women in Korea are Korean. Is it any wonder people have Korean gfs?

Just a way to get under people's skin. Nobody wants to be that stereotype. I think it's down to the sexpat/sex tourist reputation of certain SEA countries. I wouldn't lump Korea in with that. But it's impossible to ignore that kind of thing in SEA. It exists and as a result any relationship between an older western man and a much younger SEA woman is going to be looked at with a degree of suspicion.

Now, I'm a confusedCanuckinKor ea.   No one here was saying older men coming to Asia are dirty old men and losers, so you created a topic that deals with your situation of your own volition. Why?  If you and your wife are happy, great.  Did anyone question that here?  I had no insight or thoughts into your relationship as it's of no interest and none of our business.  Now, I know you have a much younger wife whom I suspect married you for the financial gain.  You made that pretty clear yourself.  If her prospects were bleak and your prospects were bleak that is a union that wouldn't have happened.  I don't think it's creepy, but I'm still perplexed as to why you wanted your relationship to be a topic on here.  You jumped the gun.  Wait until you come across a thread that say "Older men marrying younger women are creepy", then respond.   

I didn't want it to be the topic, I was illustrating a point that many younger/older marriages can be successful and that it's not creepy and that it can be mutually beneficial. It's not about me/us at all, just liked the way the lady presented her point of view in the video and well, perhaps I should just delete or have this thread deleted as some took it up the wrong way.

This. Seriously, who doesn't want to have sex with the young adult and hot? Well, I guess except those that have age-related fetishes or certain physical characteristic fetishes. The point being, hating on a man (or woman) for wanting to hook up with someone young adult and attractive is about as dumb as hating on someone for wanting a nice car.

I had to be hasty. I was looking at that and I was like "Shit, this is the internet, that sentence is totally going to bite me in the ass" and so I hastily rearranged it.  That whole thing was a potential disaster.
