And for whoever was dissing curling, it's a little known fact that the sweeper in curling is one of the best conditioned athletes in any sport.

regrettably, it is still incredibly boring

Disagree. The Korea-Japan semifinal in 2018 was electric sports viewing. If you have a team in it playing for something, it certainly is exciting. A bit like golf, you can have entire rounds or matches which might be nothing more than the occasional nice shot and something to be entertained for an hour and sleep for two hours too on a lazy weekend afternoon. Then all of a sudden you get something tight like a Ryder Cup showdown that's down to the wire or a three-way playoff at the PGA or something and it becomes incredibly tense and exciting.

An acquired taste perhaps. But, if you've ever played curling you'd know how tough it is to do anything. Korea has a winter, 4 seasons in fact, there must be a curling rink somewhere.

Curling was offered as a gym course when I was in school! It ain't easy.

Yes, they do. I think I heard about that in 2018 for some reason. I can't remember why. Probably some obscure article or something that was overlooked by mostly everyone here.

If you taught at a school anywhere near it, it would make for a very fun and extremely funny field trip.

'Young-Mi!!!!'

Korean women won silver in 2018. They train somewhere near Daegu, like in Uiseong, or some town like that.

So...a general theme seems to be more 'exciting' versions of current sports

Summer
Shooting -> John Wick style competitions
Equestrian  -> Jousting
High Jump  -> Parkour/Obstacle Courses
Pentathlon -> American Gladiators
Martial Arts  -> MMA
Fencing   -> Knight Fights
Rowing/Conoeing/Sailing  -> ????? Canoe jousting? Pirating? Plank Walking?

Winter
Biathlon  -> More extreme/John Wick Shooting
Curling   -> Based Curling???
Others???

It appears everyone wants more danger/violence. We apparently are not entertained.

Agreed.
Help others, especially animals. Say what you think, be considerate of others. Appreciate more than deprecate. Teach well, jump on teachable moments. Enjoy Korea as it is, without changing it. Dwell! Yet, at times, change your life for the better. "The most important [thing] is to have a good day."

You're kidding right? The tension builds and builds as the stone slowly makes its way down the sheet toward the house.

And it would be sponsored by cheetos and mountain dew.
