Here is a lesson introduction that covers vocabulary, key phrases, fill in the blank dialogue and matching.  Second is a cryptogram with the key sentences from the lesson plan.  Last is a powerpoint that shows the students how to do the cryptogram and then gives the answers with pictures.  Also available for Windows 97-2003.  Enjoy!

Grade 6 Lesson 3: I Like Spring
« Reply #4 on: April 09, 2010, 08:46:47 AM »
This is a Jeopardy game I made using a basic template. The categories are "Food, Holidays, Months, and Weather". Instead of using "What is..." for the answers, I made the answers "I like (month) in (season)" or "I like (season)". I thought this would be easier to explain and easier for the students to do well at.

You'll need to change a few of the 400/500 questions because they involve questions about me. Also, I've included a few questions about America...you can change those for your home country if you choose.

Hope you enjoy it!

i don't know if this will help any of you...but i have one special needs student and he come to class with an assistant. when i have time, i try to make worksheets for him, so he can do something relevant to the lesson.

his Korean skills are very basic, so i try to make worksheets for him to practice English and Korean.

I let some students read a story about weather and they played running dictation game. The second lesson they had a listening activity and speaking activity where they had to interview their friends.

I have attached a PPT with all the flashcards / picture cards for each unit - they're a little different from those of 2010. Please feel free to use them when making PPTs. Hope they're useful.

Thanks jaimejeangabin for the ppt. It saved my bacon today.

I modified its design with office 2007 hope you don't mind. Just removed some slides and changed a few animations.
Really minor stuff.

Thanks again.

Sircharles - kudos on the seasons and holidays powerpoint. I know that took some time to complete. It's one of the best I've seen

I made a prezi using most of your ideas. I did not include the holidays in mine as I will have a separate lesson on holidays down the road.

If anyone fancies a challenge, here's a backing track I made based on the (apparently very famous :P) Nangmyeon K-pop song, and a poem about the seasons that I found on the net, which fits snugly over the top.

The verses of the poem can be split between groups in the class, so they have fewer words to learn each. Or given the general lameness of this lesson, they can just learn it all.
For the rappy/chant section in the song (check out the link below) the groups can shout out the seasons.

Here is the practice and matching game.

I edited it so when the student get a match, you can click the pic and text and they will disappear.
