Didn't David Duke endorse Ilhan Omar or something like that? "Well obviously Ilhan Omar is supported by the KKK and her views match theirs!!!!"

Like whose brain actually works like that and takes such a point seriously? It's amazing that on this site where everyone has a college education, some people are still dumb enough to fall for the "Guilt by 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon Association" fallacy.

Communism doesn’t work.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1tVSuLIjZmM

The Pilgrims were the same people after their switch from collective to individual farming — from socialism to capitalism, as it were — but after the switch, they thrived. That led to the first Thanksgiving in 1623.

https://www.investors.com/politics/columnists/thanksgiving-property-rights-john-stossel/

Collective farming nearly starved the Pilgrims. It also starved tens of millions in the Soviet Union and in Communist China. And it's not just a farming problem.

Doing anything collectively, especially if you do it involuntarily, is a bad, inefficient idea.

Government can force everyone into the same centrally-dictated plan, but in doing so it stifles individual initiative and drive.

"Individual initiative"--why not show some instead of just re-posting videos of internet/radio/TV entertainers?

Nice bit of American revisionism, LI!
People in the know know that the *actual* first Thanksgiving was in 1578. In Northern Canada. You bunch of copy cats!

True.
Neither is New Zealand, but at least the Illuminati Lizard-men in charge of faking the Great White North know how to draw on a map!
Those southern geckos are total slackers.

Historians are now saying the first North American Thanksgiving was in Florida in 1565.

Before that there were Days of Thanksgiving in England starting in 1536.

I’m reading about that now. Not a whole lot of detailed information online. An English crew sailed to Canada. Upon landing they ate food from the ship and did a church service. In the sermon the preacher told them they should give thanks to God.

I feel like it’s a bit of a stretch to say Canada did the first Thanksgiving. Eating the same aged food they’d been eating for a long time and saying, “Thanks God for helping us land.” = the first Thanksgiving? Maybe. It’s debatable.

Australia is just Austria but with extra "ale". Explains why all the "videos" of "Australians" are just of inebriated hooligans mumbling incomprehensible English, right?

Well, that's 3 of the seven properly insulted. Any ideas for the other 4?

Interesting!
I actually worked with a Kyopo once that praised me for coming from that same place where the sound of music was made.  I remember avoiding any conversations with her after that.

That “joke” was so lame it only made Canadians look bad. I think it should be pointed out that Kyndo is from western Canada.  They’re known for mountains and salmon, not humor.  And, yes, I know Seth Rogen is from Vancouver.

Yes, he'd be doing this site a greater service by consigning some of his dad jokes to the recycle bin rather than picking on other people's posts.

Well, I thought Kyndo's effort was typical of the level of Canadian satire that I've grown accustom  too. I wouldn't be so harsh on the chap.

And just like that the suv accident is nowhere to be found in the msm.  Is it better for whites and blacks to be ignorant of racism on the black’s part?  Which I would argue is substantially more prevalent.  https://twitter.com/nuancebro/status/1464445062645895169?s=21

Just for the sake of clarity, I've lived in Western Canada for a quite while, but I'm not sure I'd say I'm *from* it.
Also, this is exciting! I've seen others (less deserving get) them, and have always felt little stabs of jealousy reading through them.  But now, -- finally! -- I get a roast thread too!  :azn:

(Don't tell OnNut)

Oh, you knew I couldn't not comment.  I'm being baited.

I won't say a word, but what is it with people wanting to claim they're from Toronto, anyways?  It's a great city, but it's not New York.  You should be grateful you're not really from Toronto.  The amount of "Oh, I hate Toronto" comments I get is tiresome.  And if you follow it up, you hear the inevitable story about a cousin they used to visit every summer who lives in Brampton,  so they know what they're talking about.

And, it doesn't stop there.  Do you have any idea how often you hear someone talking like "Well, I'm from Toronto and..." and since true Torontonians don't do that, we have to suffer knowing long after this person moved away we'll still pay for them trying to bring up Toronto all the time.  The only way I could avoid it is to lie and say I'm not from Toronto, but who is going to lie about where they're from?

There was a dude who used to post ad nauseum on here about all things Toronto.  But, we had very different experiences growing up in the city.  It turns out he was born and raised in Burlington, which is at best a far flung Toronto suburb or bedroom community.  He claimed he could say he was from Toronto and he was a Torontonian because he had gone to university there.  I agreed that if he was living there he was a Torontonian, but he could never claim he was from there.  And once he moved away he was no longer a Torontonian.  I mean, I never claimed I was a Montrealer when I lived there for university.  I had the same apartment and never lived in residence so I could've made that claim, but it would've rung hollow.

This is the rambling thread, right?

I'm from SE Michigan, so it's almost like Canada. I mean we use Canadian coins half the time. I mean from age 19-21, Windsor is basically our second home.
