Marty defended the actions of the Sewol captain back on Dave’s (when it was a thing). That’s all you need to know about the absurd positions he takes.
That is not true. Your inability to parse a layered analysis and the subsequent misinterpretation is your fault, not mine and an example of Brandolini's Law.

The thing is, mate, I’ve been on this board longer than you have, and the only posters ever to accuse me dishonesty, BS, bad faith arguments etc are folks like you, shaneberry, Kliuchevski, Jester Chim and Hankook.  So that’s the company in which you reside.
Unlike those posters, I've also defended you on multiple occasions. Hangook77, Chester Jim, and others have also accused me of being an apologist and dishonesty. Looks like you share their company, along with the likes of Mayor Haggar and gogators! whom reasonable posters have critiqued.

So, speaking of company, are you going to apply the same standard to yourself as you have to me?

Ah, I forgot! I left off “intentionally obtuse”.

Your argument was destroyed in horrible ways. It was embarrassing for you. I’m sorry that you’re still traumatized by the incident.

Your inability to listen and just turning it into a personal attack (the main line of attack was "So SR thinks he's a sea captain now!", which doesn't really address the points raised) is a perfect example of how intransigent people are and how many are simply cognitively and emotionally incapable of debating opposing viewpoints.

No, you took a position. Filled it with bullshit, pirouetted on that position more times than a ballerina in the Bolshoi Theatre and kept defending it no matter how many people knocked back your arguments.

It is true. You defended the actions of the captain and the crew, disagreeing with all the experts who said in such a case you should get everyone on deck quickly to be ready to evacuate. You said the wait and see approach was the right one.

Although the idea of Brandolini's Law is interesting (it reminds me of the ol' gish-gallop that's occasionally used in debate forums), I feel that this thread is going to continue to be nothing more than a long, thinly-veiled series of personal attacks and airing-of-grievances.

I'll lock the thread, but if people honestly feel that they have something constructive to add, let me know!
