I am mostly an English teacher. This is a remote side gig. But it
pays my health insurance, pension and some monthly cash.

Women used to come around to my apartment trying to sign people up for a credit card. They also used to be in front of big department stores IIRC. show them a business card and fill out the form and you got a card.  I worked for Samsung at the time so the business card carried a bit of weight.

But those women were getting paid to sign people up so they were pretty helpful.

Costco Samsung card
GOv’t employee  Samsung card
Hyundai card
Hyundai M card
Standard Charter Visa card

If you have the proper income requirements, you can get more than one.

In fact, if you use one card and pay it off regularly, then subsequent
cards are easy. My Costco Hyundai Platinum arrived in the mail the
other day. Very easy to get. Also the handphone  app has an English
language option. I was amazed and delighted.

Actually it wasn't as easy as I expected. I had to download all of that
user-side anti-spyware crap to my PC. Also, when I phoned the
Hyundai Card English help line I got someone with a Filipino accent
that said I should look up my question on YouTube. WTF. I did get
it all sorted out in the end.

As an ESL teacher, this has me shaking with rage. I did not become an ESL teacher to have to listen to people whose second language is English, speak with an accent on the customer service line while I am living in Korea.
