(2010 National) Grade 3, Lesson 5 - "Wash Your Hands!"
« on: April 14, 2010, 01:59:08 pm »
Here are the lesson plans from last year's curriculum for this lesson.  I changed them a little bit to match the current dialogue and chants.  The games look like they're pretty much the same as is the role play.  For Windows 97-2003, the lesson is separated into two parts.  For Windows 2007, it comes as one.  Enjoy!

Here also is a labeling worksheet where the students label the different parts of the face and body.  Then there's a Fix Up the Mix Up! sentence writing practice for handwriting and comprehension. Second there's a powerpoint that goes over all of the worksheet aspects so that the student who are struggling can see what the answers are and make your job easier.  Enjoy!  ;)

Quick Idea.... when starting up the next class... For a fast review, grab one student and bring them to the front of the classroom. Afterwards, you and your co-teacher should apply post-it's to various parts of their body. Next, ask the class to name or same the correct expressions for each part of the body. This should work fairly well. For instance, grab one student, and apply 5 post-its to various parts of their body (shoulder, knee, face, hair, etc.) Next, when the class says the correct expressions, call on another student and apply 5 more post-its to different parts of their body. This is just a fast review...it shouldn't take any more than 5 minutes.

Here's an intro for Lesson 3 PPT. Intros lesson vocab and phrases. There's also a BOMB GAME to go along with.

The font I sized for is Quicksand. You can get it for free here: http://typophile.com/node/50437

I use it a ton for PPTs, it scales really well and is very legible, especially on larger displays.

Hello!
I made some powerpoints for Grade 3 Lesson 5. Maybe you could use them to review. They really like the one with the actions.

This is a simple "Pass the Paper Game" I modified from EFL Classroom 2.0's great website. The students pass the paper while the music is playing (either in groups or for each row). When the music stops, the children holding the paper must use the expression for the slide on the screen. A fun warm-up, or simple review.

Also, the PPT for introducing the expressions for this lesson.

Here are my 'lesson plans' / materials for this unit. Sorry the lesson plans aren't in a very good format, my school is happy for me to just have them as notes for myself.

Sorry for any duplication of materials borrowed from other people on waygook, and thanks for originally posting them!

Here's a simple idea about how to introduce or review body parts.  The method is to ask volunteers to come to the front and draw various monster / teacher / boy / girl body parts.  For example, pointing to your ear, you can ask, "Who will draw the monster's ear?"
If your class makes 2 class drawings, you can use the drawings for a game.  If they have made a drawing of a boy and girl, the game reward can be to erase one body part of the boy or girl.  For example, playing a game where the girls team gets a point, you can ask the girls, "What part (of the drawing of a boy) do you wnat to erase?"  Hope my description wasn't confusing.

I've listed a few commands in English and in Korean.
I cut these words up and made my students match the English words
with the correct definition of korean words.
It's just a quick review before/after class.
