I put together another video quiz for this chapter review.

The objective is to the kids to ask "What are you doing?" and then play each video. Try to get them to respond and match. Or ask "What is he/she doing? What are they doing?"

What are you doing?

1.

2.

3. http://youtu.be/PoLtHqS_LhA?t=21s

4. http://youtu.be/G4v1hAnfy1I?t=1m15s

5. http://youtu.be/QuB3kr3ckYE?t=14s

6.

1. singing, cooking
2. jumping
3. dancing
4. running
5. eating
6. studying

For the first video, of Tangled, I used it for a number of things. I am/She is...dancing, singing, cleaning my room, cooking, painting. For number 6, I asked. "Does he like to study? No, he does not like to study."  ;)

Hi!

This video is good for asking kids the questions "What is he doing?" / "What is it doing?"  It'll make the kids laugh while they study English.

Thanks.

Grade 4 - Unit 7 - What are you doing - Grammar 1

PPT introduces the main grammar points for the unit
'What are you doing?" 'I am _____ing.'

I also introduce the spelling rule for removing the final 'e' off verbs before adding 'ing'. In addition it briefly introduces
'he / she is _____ing'
'they are _____ing'

for the smarter kids in the class.

Grade 4 - Unit 7 - What Are You Doing - Hidden Picture

simple hidden picture game. Click a square to remove it. Kids should guess what is happening in the picture. when i do it they have to guess not only the action but the correct sentence (for example, if there is a girl doing the action, they should say 'She is___ing' ... if its two people 'they are ____ing etc).

Grade 4 - Unit 7 - What are you doing - Grammar 2

Includes a review of last week. adds some new verbs into the mix and also introduces the spelling rules for adding a consonant before 'ing' (eg. running)

Additionally introduces the question form as well

'Are you _____ ing?' - 'Yes, I am.' / 'No, I am not.'

UNO Card Game

- 2_Uno - How to play - instructions for uno game
- watched TV - UNO

This game take a long time to make (you need 6 sets of 52 cards) - however its well worth the effort. not only do the kids love it and get to practice english a lot while playing. You can use it for almost any class and any grade (the same cards can be used for past tense, future tense, present continuous etc etc). I made these cards a year ago, and every time i use them, with every grade ... the kids go mad for it.

Ultimate Person - Cards & Instructions

Also known as the evolution game. Instructions in the ppt.
Kids get a card each, they have to find someone on the same level of evolution as themselves. They have a simple conversation in English related to the card they are carrying (What are you doing? I am cleaning my room). Then they play rock, scissor, paper ... the winner goes up a level (evolves) and the looser returns to level one.
the kids also love this game. and they get a lot of practice from it.

the cards are the same cards i use for uno.

If some any of the games do not make sense, drop me a message. the instructions in the ppt's should clear up any misunderstandings.
