Is it just me or does it look like Jinho's uncle on pg. 56 looks like a woman?  Do you think this a mistake or is this textbook a little more culturally liberal than I initially thought?

This will definitely throw the kids off when you ask them to analyze the page- as is suggested in the teacher's book.

I played a game where a student or myself will describe a picture, while groups of 2 will draw the picture desribed. eg. he has a bat in his right hand, he's wearing a big green cap. It's very simple , but a helpful and interesting learning activity.
There more aspects to the picture, the harder it is.
If you have an overhead projector, it is very useful for showing the original and the students pictures.

Here's my practice PPT that I used for my open class.  Goes over adjectives, hair, eyes, accesories, etc.  There are slides at the end to have the students practice describing.

Yep, it's definitely a guy^^ Those are guys from that group of famous Korean comedians that are on all those shows.  My kids all knew right away who it was and got a kick out of the pic.  Not sure if it would work for all students, but I knew that mine were familiar with those comedians.

this is a PPT game of charades. Have students divided into teams. One with their back to the TV and theother one in front of their partner trying to describe the pictures of what they see.

A no-prep game my students really enjoyed was "Secret Cinderella," a modified version of the turn-left-turn-right variety of the game. 2 students were competing "princes" and left the room. While they were gone, I picked one volunteer to be a the secret Cinderella (they had to know that by being Cinderella they might have their looks picked on by their classmates).  I had other students raise their hands and contribute sentences to describe that student, e.g., She has long hair, and I typed them onto a PPT screen. (You could also write them on the board.) I limited it to 3-4 sentences to keep things moving and not make the description too specific.  I didn't allow negative comments like, "He is ugly."  Then the princes would come in to a fanfare and have to read the screen and ask students, "Are you Cinderella?" to which they had to reply "yes" or "no."  My co-teacher went out in the hall while I was writing the sentences, to prep them to do this (i.e. to read the clues first and not just randomly approach students) and my co-teacher also told the students not to look at the Cinderella or laugh loudly when the prince got near, because it gave it away and was no fun.  I allowed both boys and girls to be princes or Cinderella.  But I usually had the 2 princes be either both boys or both girls so they wouldn't get too awkward out in the hall alone together.
Oh, and the first prince to find Cinderella was the winner.  We usually played around 4 rounds per class.  And everyone was just dying to participate--no one crying from someone saying they had small eyes or whatever.
This worked well after using one of the ppts posted on here as a review--the one with Shrek.  I liked it because of the grammatical focus. on is/has, and adding "a" when needed.

I found that my students had a ton of trouble distinguishing the difference between has and is/are.  I made a PTT that focuses mostly on that.

I've been working on this unit for an open class, so I'll post some of the materials I've made.

I wanted a standardized size for facial features, and I use Simpsons clips quite often in the classroom, so I used the make an avatar feature at http://www.simpsonsmovie.com/  .  There are any number of combinations you can make, so I took screenshots and made the ppt below.
(There's extra stuff tacked onto the end of the ppt - edit as you please).

Also in the ppt at the end are 8 different faces on one slide with numbers next to them. I played a 'grab game' by making cards with numbers on them. I would describe the features of a face (ending with the hair) and the students would grab the number card that matched the face on the screen.

I've also added a bomb game.
