Are you actually up to lesson 8 already or are you just very well prepared? If you are up to lesson 8, how?

No I'm not at all, I'm just putting them up in advance because I know that some people are getting these ready for open classes.  Therefore, I put them up so they can get prepared early.  I'm not that fast of a teacher.  ;D

I am on lesson 8....our school required us to finish lesson 8 by June 1st so that we can spend all of June reviewing for the national test in July.

How do you manage that? Do you just rush through lessons and do them in 3 periods instead of 4? I guess it might work in cities where the kids go to hagwons, and know all the material anyway. My schools are all rural and some of the kids struggle a bit with 4 periods nevermind any less. Spending 6 weeks reviewing 8 lessons seems a bit excessive. It becomes less of a review and more of a let's teach the lessons again.

Here is a double puzzle worksheet for those of you who are teaching at more advanced schools.  When I made it, I didn't realize it would turn out to be too difficult for my students.  But maybe it will work for some of yours.  Second is a cryptogram which may be easier.  It has the exact same key phrases but not as hard.  Then there is a connect four game board.  You can laminate it and make a set for each pair of students in the class.  Then use white board markers for the students to mark their answers.  This one focuses on answers in the future, not just for the summer.  Students have to make a complete sentence.  Have fun!

And here are some phrase cards.  I will be laminating them and attaching magnets so the students can come up to the board and make their own sentences and see how they're put together.  This could be a starter exercise for the connect four game since it's the same phrases that the students have to make. Enjoy!

I have used the videos that guy does for grade 3 chants, and the kids went ballistic at the sight of a male elementary teacher. Especially the apple apple apple chant where he blows a kiss.

I changed a powerpoint to add a bunch of fail gifs (so now its 14mb), and a guessing game about my vacation. The best way I can get apathetic 6th boys to pay attention.

My 3rd grade coteacher just turns up with action videos for the chants on her usb. She won't tell me where they come from. Its a Korean teacher sharing website but some kind of membership thing. She won't even tell me the name of the website in case I tell another teacher and the other teacher uses them to teach a good class. (she dislikes my 4th grade co-teacher and says she is stealing a 'real' teachers job).  Its like Fight Club. I keep hoping someone will gain access to the whole cache and put them on youtube.

They're .gif images so you put them in like normal images but they move.  http://www.gifbin.com/ has a lot of funny video ones. www.animatedgif.net or www.animationlibrar y.com have clipart ones. I generally just google 'beach animated gif' 'pirate animated gif' and pick the first results.

it's called iscream....just about every K-teacher I know uses it....and it's always open on their web browsers so it is no secret. Don't know why it's such a big secret to your K-teacher   ::)

http://www.i-scream.co.kr/

If you know hangul you can register also (AFAIK)....though many of the slides you will find there happen to be foreign teachers' slides that they have uploaded (from what I've seen) ;)

Would you mind posting the link to the youtube channel? would be interested to see them....

he seems to only have 3 vids up there (user = Willsaims channel)

you can go to Youtube here http://www.youtube.com/user/willsaim and download his vids using www.keepvid.com

then change it over to wmv using prism video comverter and then insert it into your ppt.

I don't think its I-Scream. They posted out some free crap to my classroom like a school calendar and some icecream stickers, not too secret. I can't navigate it that well though so maybe.

He has a bunch more than 3 videos, I have used his or a woman's choreograpy for every grade 3 chant. But I have no online source for them that I can find.
