I like the idea and presentation. But if your kids can do this and you think they are low level, you should teach at the high school I'm at for a day...this is way beyond their level. I'm not sure how I can make it any easier and still keep the essence of the lesson...might save it for a camp lesson or something.
For my lesson I did not actually do the part where they arrange the sentences in the right order. I wanted to focus on them working together in groups and writing.
Most of my kids are incapable of writing even basic sentences. I spent a long time on just getting them to understand that a Darwin award is for when someone dies in a very stupid way. The part about how they are named are for the higher level students.
I had to help them a lot with the writing and drawing section but I did manage to impart the point of the story.
I definitely agree it might be better for a camp as class time limits you a lot. Thanks for taking a look.
