World Cup
« on: May 27, 2010, 01:35:08 PM »
I am interested in trying to tie the World Cup and Geography into my next two weeks of advanced class lessons and I am looking for some ideas on how best to approach. If anyone has suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated.

I am going to explain the continents, oceans, countries...etc, and also teach them "I am proud of___."

Cheers

This is a good start for you. My friend made this lesson and gave it to me but i haven't used it yet. It will be a good start and you can incorporate the world cup into it somehow im sure.

Thanks for this...good PPT. Just a note for corrections, for the Filipino slide, I believe it should ask, "what IS their nationality?" since they all share the same single nationality. If 3 people worked for the same company, you wouldn't ask, "what are their company?" I'm not a grammar expert so correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, Filipinos speak TAGALOG, not Filipino.  ;D
Vietnamese is spelled wrong on the Vietnam slide.

Really like the pictures! :)

Sorry, but I couldn't find the original World Cup link.  I haven't had a chance to show any of my classes anything about the World Cup so I updated and combined some stuff from a few existing files.

Filipino as the offical language of the Philipines is correct. It's based on Tagalog but not the same. Source: Wikipedia + general Google search.
