I got this from EFLCLASSROOM2.0. I've changed some of the bonus questions from the original, so it is easier for the students. I used this today and it went well with my first year classes. Before getting into the game I reviewed how to say some of the larger sums of money, like 234,000.

I would also like to add that my classroom has numerous individual whiteboards that the students can use and there enough markers and whiteboard erasers to go around. If you don't have those then you can have the students write the answers on paper.

This game is awesome! I just finished a shopping unit with my grade 2 middle school and it's a great compliment to the mock auction I am going to do with it. I will post soon, once I figure out how. :)

I just used this game and it went over great with the lesson that I was teaching about money and shopping. I added a few slides at the beginning to compare Won to US Dollars that I found on here from someone. I also changed the items to things that I thought my students may have a little more interest in. I just went shopping around my area and took pictures of things. Just thought I would add my ppt since I used your idea but modified it a little

Good stuff! It worked well with all grades but especially 1st grade. I did the pass the ball number lesson that's here on Waygook before I did this lesson so I was sure that everyone could say the numbers.

This is great! my kids loved it, but it would be nice to know where the photos were taken for the 2nd set. I invented it (based on the price level)... but, E-Mart's prices are very different from a department store's.

I think I might tweek this, using photos from E-mart's web page.That way i can say "everything is from E-mart" and I can use more kid-friendly stuff, I am doing this with 3rd grade elementary (but high level speakers).

The 2nd one (with kid friendly pictures) is way more of a hit than the Hyundai Dept store, but i find in a 40 min period I need to use both (but i start with the "cool" stuff)

Great idea!! The kids love it, and it's great for them to practice their numbers!

I just thought that I should contribute some stuff that I've used in my English class.

I have two "Price is Right" games. The first game I downloaded from somewhere. I'm not really sure where but the second game I made by myself. For the second game I have a short version and a long version. The short version is for teachers who want to finish the game within 45 minutes and the long version is for teachers who wants to see just how far his or her students can go. I've used both games and the students really enjoyed them.

I hope that you and your students will enjoy these games. If there any improvements or suggestions that you may have, please leave a comment.

Thanks for posting this! I like it, I wish I had those mini white boards though..

I'll have to think of another way for them to show their price, but writing it on paper could make a lot of waste!

I went to the local stationary shop and got some decorative paper and laminated them. They work just as well as the mini white boards.

I combined a few versions to add bonus questions. I also adapter another PPT I found on currency comparison. This one is Rand/Won..not exact science, but it'l do! Credits to those who did the hard work!

Instead of white eraser boards, I used clear folders and erasable markers. They worked well for my camp. This was a lot cheaper.

I put the students into teams and then one person from each team would come to the board to write their answer.

Well I have the group that wins say the number but if they can't say it correctly then the next team with the closest price will have a chance to say the number. If they say it correctly, then that group will win the point.

Here is a lesson on money and currency, money idioms, and getting students to practise saying numbers in English with a Price is Right game at the end. Borrowed stuff from here, and added my own.

My variation of "The Price is Right" involves the co-teacher writing the "correct" price on a slip of paper and handing it to me (that way the co-teacher has something to do).

Just don't let the class devolve into only speaking Korean (i.e. saying "man-ii-chan-won" instead of "twelve thousand won").
