Awesome lesson! Used it for a dreaded post-exam lesson for my Grade 1 MS boys and they loved it. Made some modifications including translations.

Here is a PP i made about superheroes. It is a simple assignment made to get lower level kids excited about English. I have yet to actually try this in a class but i figure i would upload it now since i have nothing better to do with 7 hours of desk warming today.

Yeah, I would have added female superheroes but the last time I had a girl in one of my lessons i couldn't get my kids to stop yelling "BIG BOOBS!". I work in an all boys hs

I have a guessing game that you can play with your students. It lists a bunch of well known superheroes and 'facts' about them. I read out the 'facts' after each other very slowly. If they guess the superhero correctly after I gave them just one fact, I gave them 10 points. If they guessed it after two facts, 9 points. And so on...

Hi there!
I've taken this lesson and added pages with the weaknesses of each superhero, as well as their strengths. I'm not really a comic reader, so I hope they're correct.
We're talking about personality/characteristics and doing self-evaluations so this'll be a pretty good lesson to go along with that.

I was actually able to teach this without my coteacher.  Ah, I love it when my students actually behave.  It's totally fun, but I had to fill in about ten minutes with random silliness.  Not a dig on the lesson.  It's totally fun.  Just a note to other people looking to nab this one.

Is there any chance you could save this to suit an older version of Powerpoint? The idea sounds quite cool. I'm always struggling to hold a student's attention and I think this, with a few vid clips, would work quite well.

i like the idea of adding some videos..  my kids really are veeery basic, some only know how to say "hello, how are you"  so lessons can be boring (at least it feels that way to me!)..  love talking about superheroes, will try this out
