Environment lesson
« on: June 22, 2010, 09:52:48 AM »
Here's a lesson I made on the environement. I used all the slides to talk around and elicit answers and ideas from the class. The videos are there to focus the class at the start and give them a little breather and laugh through the lesson. As the group activity I asked the students at each table to come up with ways they can help the environment. Hope it's useful.

Yeah no probs, I thought they would remain hyperlinked when I posted it.
These are the vids in the order they appear on the PPT.

Hi! I was wondering if you could post up the power point file in .ppt form?

Thanks, it'd be a great help!

When you're in the powerpoint go to the first pull down menu where you save things.  Go to the Save As icon (A) don't click on it but scroll to the right with the arrow. It will bring up a menu of what to save it as like what version.  Save it into Powerpoint 97-2003 (9) and this will create the ppt version instead of pptx.

However, for those of you who don't have the new windows software, you can go to google and put in the search file converter pptx to ppt or docx to doc.  It will come up with many different options where you just put in the file and it opens in the program that you want it to. Good luck!

You can download a compatibility pack so you can open .docx .ppttx in earlier versions of ms office.  Just google it.

It was first grade, I changed it around a lot depending on the ability of the class. For example if the class was really good then I used the word resources in the sentence: More people = More everything.

Glad it was useful!

I modded the PPT a bit and I threw in a word search as well.  Hope this goes over well for the week!

Great lesson. I adapted it a bit for my classes and added a worksheet to it to help the students follow along and reinforce the vocab. Really went over well, thanks a lot for the great idea!

I did this with my classes today and they loved it, especially the videos.  The sound wasn't working in one of the classes, but it didn't matter - they still watched.  It was magical.
