Mr. Bean Takes an Exam

Mr. Bean- always a hit.
Start by introducing the dialogue that takes place at the beginning of the video, it's important for them to understand. As I go through each line, I make sure that they understand that Mr. Bean studied one thing and the man studied something else.
After that, give them some time to read over the sentences that they will have to put in order. Also, prompt them to pay attention to the end of the video to see if they can figure out what happens. Play the video for them. In most classes I had to play it twice for the students to get all 10 sentences in the right order.
Go over the answers and explain the ending for them. I'm also attaching a different version of the worksheet that I used for my low levels, it's labeled with a B. Just Youtube search "Mr. Bean takes an exam." You will have some extra time at the end of class so you will need to have something short, maybe 10 minutes, prepared.
Cheers!

Just wondering if your students got the pink panther gag or not? I'm worried that I might offend one of my innocent high school girls :)

I'm sure plenty of people have used this video clip already but I made a PowerPoint to describe Rowan Atkinson's
Mr. Bean
based on information I found online for the first time the class views a Bean clip. I only used the questions on the PowerPoint slideshow for classes before I made the worksheet and have kept it intact for anyone choosing to opt against the worksheet option.
For my second round doing this lesson, instead I handed out the worksheet and didn't use the PowerPoint questions, although one question gives away the ending a bit, so feel free to change whatever you'd like, of course.
You can choose how you want to show the clip to the students and how you'd like to use the worksheet. Afterwards you can do any kind of activity or game you'd prefer to continue getting students to discuss the concepts from today's class. This is my first posting so hopefully it's not too bad, ha.

I'll use this as a filler the week after Chuseok, as they're just about to enter a week of exams. Thanks

Great Lesson.
My students have very mixed abilities, so I've had to change some of the questions but in general it's going really well. I've also tried it with sound and I believe it's better because it gives the students with a higher lever of understanding to work out exactly what happened to Mr Bean. E.g. he picked up the wrong paper from the envelope.
When it's silent they all just think that he hasn't studied for his test.
Thanks

As dwebsterlfc said, this'll be my "around Chuseok" lesson, and my last full week of teaching before midterms. It's a lesson with some fun and some content, yet not so critical that it's the end of the world if the classes behind schedule miss out on it. I used it last year at this time too, and most people (students and teachers) who saw it the first time gasped or giggled at the Pink Panther gag (even more when they realized it was actually just the tail), but no one seemed grossly offended.
I'm supplementing a listening textbook this year, so as a lesson connection to the book, I'm adding this final activity for an "if time" thing. Maybe it's a short activity you can adapt if anyone does indeed have 10 minutes left at the end.
Part IV. Conversation.
What do you say to your neighbor before an exam? What does the teacher say? Make up a dialogue with your partner and practice saying it. (If you're in a group of three, one student can be the teacher.) Use todays patterns: Are you sure? and Are you ready to?

I don't understand why my students love Mr Bean as much as they do. I had a food discussion a while ago, and couldn't help but show the one where Mr Bean makes a sandwich and dries his lettuce in his sock. They were glued to the screen! :)

My students blew through this lesson when I did it - so I put them in groups and had them start to make their own skit. My only qualification was really that everyone needed to speak at least once.
It ended up being hillarious and my students had a lot of fun doing it.

More complete lesson to fill in an entire lesson period. I more or less combined the two powerpoints and made some adjustments. The two videos are the 10 minute videos of Mr. Bean exam and Mr. Bean swimming pool on youtube. Everything is pretty self explanitory from the previous posts.
