Animation Shorts
« on: June 28, 2010, 12:46:45 PM »
Here's a fun, easy lesson for those weeks around finals when students just don't want to pay attention.

I found it best to go over the questions with the students before watching the video, so they would know what to look for. Also there are some words they didn't all understand (recliner, growl, bone, skeleton, moral) so going over them first really increased their responses later. After each video, we would go over the questions as a class - first asking for their ideas, then showing answers on the PPT.  Anyhow, hope you like it!

Hey B, what grade did you use this with? It's really cute :) I might try it with my after school class!

I used this one with 2nd and 3rd grade middle school, and I think Sonya used it with the 1st graders. Just change the questions to adapt it to any grade level!
Good luck!

Did it take the entire 45 minutes, or did you play some games after as well?

Here's a adapted version of this lesson the one posted earlier had some link problems. This also has a section for speaking and non speaking video clips.

2nd the Pixar's. 5/6 minute animation can be turned into a full class.
I got them all from piratebay (not that i'm encouraging illegal downloads).
