MES-English
« on: June 29, 2011, 10:28:11 AM »
I'm starting this thread for PPT's that accompany the MES-English "Speaking First Curriculum" materials. I love using their stuff, and it would be great if we could all pool the resources we've created with the vocabulary/content from those specific lessons. There's a lot of great things on waygook already but I find I'm frequently modifying PPTs to include all of the words I'm teaching from the MES-English curriculum, and remove extra things.

I created this Gerund Verbs PPT to accompany the MES-English.com Verb Set #1 (walk, run, read, play, sleep, write, talk, listen, jump, drink, eat, open, close).

The powerpoint includes the gerund form of these words (walking, running, reading, playing, sleeping, writing, talking, listening, jumping, drinking, eating, opening, closing, in a "She/He is ~ing" format. You can find flaschards and worksheets at MES-English for this topic:

MES-English Verb Set #2 Powerpoint (count, go, come, watch TV, play video games, speak, sing songs, dance, ride a bike, laugh, cry, swim), in the same format as the PPT for the previous verb set.

Q: What is he doing? What is she doing?
A: He is ~ing. She is ~ing.

Enjoy!

I made a powerpoint for the Transportation section of the Speaking First Curriculum (Unit 1), including two slides for each word (fire truck, police car, ambulance, taxi, truck, motorcycle, bus, train, bike, airplane, helicopter, tank, boat, submarine, rocket, UFO, jeep, sports car, van).

I've also attached flashcard pages I created using the graphics from their "powerpoint flashcard" files, since the flashcard files on the site are formatted horribly (you have to cut, paste, fold, etc)...these are just print, laminate, and go. There are three sheets of cards (18 cards total) and one sheet of optional "backing", so after you print the cards you can flip them over to print the backs onto the same sheet.

Target language: Q: What's This? A: It's a _____.
