Pretty self explanatory. I printed and laminated the map so the students could work at their desks.

Here is my lesson! Took the powerpoint from above, but made A LOT of changes.
For the slides with the directional image and word, I will make the class come up with sentences. IE: The baby penguin is between its parents. The dog is in front of the house.
For the slides with ??? on the top, I will make them say what the image is of (ie, go straight, turn right, corner etc...) and then construct sentences. IE: The house is on the corner.
Postcard slides-week 2.
Enjoy!

My kids are pretty low level, and I spend about 3 weeks on a lesson. Here is what I'll do for the first week.. Go over some modes of transportation, have the kids get into teams and write down as many different modes of transportation that they know, then do the dialogue, then play pictionary using the modes of transportation they had come up with earlier.

a powerpoint I made last year to challenge the kids a bit.
Give IRONMAN directions around town. This ppt consists of a map and an iron man figure that they must give directions. His destinations are denoted by stars and there are usually multiple ways to get there so I didn't include any specific answers on the ppt. You can write them on the board if you'd like. Anyhoo, it's fun-ish and the kids seemed to enjoy it.

Used this for a quick activity at the end. Used the Iron Man PPT. from above, and added a new map with Snoopy. On the Snoopy map, he can't pass the cars in the road, so the students need to give directions without passing the cars. Double check the animations before using the PPT to make sure everything is correct. The game took from 10-15 min. depending on the students' level.

Bring up your neighbourhood on Daum Street View and ask the kids for directections to well known placed, e.g. "How do I get to Lottemart?"
Mine really enjoyed seeing it, and it's more exciting than practicing with the cartoon map in the book. I only spent about 5 minutes doing it, but it was enough.
Here's the link
http://local.daum.net/map/index.jsp
Just click on the thing that looks like an eyeball, then drag it to the street you want to see. It should switch to the street level perspective.

these lessons are mash ups of lessons taken from people already on here. i tried to simplify it a little and make it as step by step as possible.
the first lesson, to do the dialogue i printed out the map for teams of four. on the map i circled two location (a and b). they had to create a dialogue of how to get from a-b. this also has location takes in busan.
the second lesson, is much of the same from the first. i thought this lesson was really important so i wanted to bludgeon them with this vocabulary. i also used the iron man game from monsoon. thank you. and the class ends with another dialogue the same as lesson 1. when handing out the maps you may want to add on a third destination and extend the dialogue for a harder (more time consuming) lesson.

Here is my powerpoint for this lesson. It's a combination of what everyone else posted, with some changes I made. There is a game at the end. I separate the students into groups and give them a dry erase board to write their answers. They really seem to like it.

My school seems to be about 2-3 weeks behind everyone else, so I haven't been posting my lessons... Let me know if anyone else is as far behind! I'll be starting this chapter next week.
The lesson focuses on the key phrase: Where is _____? With a tile reveal game to practice. I show the students the 7 continents, then ask questions like "Where is Egypt?" and they answer "It is in Africa." to be able to remove a tile. After the tile game I talk about what a postcard is, and give the students plenty of time to make their own. 3-5 sentences, nice colorful pictures, easy lesson.

Just finished making this navigation game. One student looks at the screen and the other faces away from it. The student who can see gives directions to the student that can't. The student that can't see follows along on the map. Review when they finish. Tried to include as many things that korean middleschoolers love in it! Hope you like it.

Hey guys! Got this lesson from a friend who teaches elementary and needed a time filler. She ended up using about 30 minutes of the lesson with this. I have no idea where she got the game idea from so if it's on waygook - SORRY and THANK YOU!! :) I made the numbers, bombs, hearts myself (online cliparts) for printing & laminating.
Basically... print, laminate and cut out the numbers 1-5, bombs and hearts. stick them on the board in a random order (i.e numbers not following and not in a row - just everywhere on the board) stick the hearts and bombs randomly in between too.
Use the online stopwatch from
http://www.online-stopwatch.com/bomb-countdown.swf
One team at a time, two members per team. One member is the leader and gives directions. The other is blindfolded and uses a whiteboard marker to draw where he's "going" (following the directions)
aim: Listen to your team mate and get from number 1-5 (in order) without hitting a bomb. Finishing 1 - 5 before the time runs out (you can decide how long with the timer) will get them bonus 20 points. The leader can also direct the drawer to the hearts for 20 bonus points. Each number hit in order is 10 points. Hitting a bomb means losing all points *for that round* and starting at 1 again. The round is finished when the timer stops. Then it's the next team's turn. Change partners when it's the same team's turn again.
Hope this makes sense - my kids loved it!
