(Demeta Gates) Grade 3, Lesson 6 - "This is Sally"
« on: June 29, 2011, 12:28:41 pm »
In this  PPT we practice introductions with some celebrities.

Vocab:
"This is ......."
"Nice to meet you."

Outside of Busan you might want to change 이대호 (slide 8 ) for your local baseball star.  8)

Does anyone know any games for this topic for an amount of 10 students?

I find that this is a difficult chapter to make games for because there is no vocabulary group associated with this chapter. The book seems to be encouraging us to review the contents of the last two chapters as suppliments to this chapter but
the key phrases for this chapter don't lend themselves to games or activities very well.

This is Sally.
Goodbye Sally,
See you later Sally,

That seems to be the entireity of the new content for this chapter. It's just not enough. That said, I'm working on some new games for this chapter but my computer broke recently and don't have anything yet. Cheers.

I find the 3rd grade curriculum to in generally to be super easy for my students. So, I'm just using this lesson to start my students with journal writing, practice phonics, and reviewing everything from last semester. And just checking to make sure they can read and understand all of the sentences they learned last semester.

Here's a review game for this chapter. I think most of the questions are pretty easy.
It's a Mario Game so at the very least they should be interested enough to stay engaged.

I used a pirates game that I got of here and put in the characters from the book. The PPT has instructions in the beginning. My third grade LOVE this game. Hope you enjoy it!

Here is a worksheet with vocabulary, key sentences, listen and speak 1 & 2, Story Time, Bingo game, and a wordsearch. The vocab and key sentences also have the Korean. For homework they must write their vocab and key sentences 3 times. If they did then the next class we can play the bingo game.
Also I have made a New Words PPT. For each slide we practice saying the letter, then the sound it makes, then the new word comes up and we practice saying it. Then the Korean meaning comes up. Then a sentence that the words goes in.
Hope you find all this helpful. There are so few resources with this book.
