I absolutely just stole this lesson.  It was just what I was looking for, tho may have to make it a little more challenging for some students.  Thanks--made my lesson planning simple for this week!

Here are some things that I just finished.    The first was used for the second lesson as a game to review the speaking points.  The second powerpoint is a good introduction to the beginning of the lesson. It has a low download number because I had to modify it. (See post below). OOPPPPSSS. K, well enjoy.

I did use that slide to give my students something entertaining to show that they could say they want to be like their parents and do the same thing.  It's a good way to get that discussion going. Have fun with it.  That's why there's all the comics in there.

I agree humor is a great way to get through to the students. I just don't know if that would go down too well with my co-teachers who aren't overly fond of anything outside the norm. Anyway thanks again for sharing your work :)

OMG, I'm totally mortified~ I did this really quick and like 1 in the morning on Sunday night for Monday morning. When you posted that response, I didn't really think about it... Until I was teaching class today and my students questioned it. I was like, um, NEXT SLIDE> so, I'm sorry but there was a good explanation with this picture that I found after the fact... Also, I've modified the powerpoint so there's a different slide picture here. Please put it in. Sorry if any of this has put you guys in a little bit of a bind. Biggest OOOPPS ever!

kellym, nice prezi!  I'd love to use this for my lesson on Monday.

However, I can't seem to find a way to edit the prezi (I don't have a prezi account).  Do I need to sign up for an account before I can make changes?  Specifically re: the "are you good at teaching" section, and to put in the missing R for entrepreneur.  :)

Here's a Prezi with a brief intro of the key phrases.

Start with the speaking warm-up, show the phrases, listen and repeat.
After you show the examples, do the textbook exercises. I skipped 117 C and D, but you can do that if you need to kill time.

Then I'm doing the Pyramid Game that one of the other posters used (It's awesome btw, thanks!). That's it!

Great Prezi Kelly, I love your work.
I've recently started using them myself. The kids really enjoy the change from powerpoints.
I'll be posting the links to my lessons this week to share.

The pyramid game! I've gotta be honest, hasn't really worked for me. 40 kids is just too much going on to make sure that everyone is playing the game the way it is supposed to work.

Basically, you start off at the bottom. Each student takes turns asking the question/answering, then after, they battle (rock, paper, scissors). The winner advances to the next level, and does the same as before, but only with someone on the same level as them. Losers stay on the level and keep trying to advance. In theory, students would be getting a lot of opportunities to speak the key phrases. In actuality, it just turned into a big rock, paper, scissors game for me, with not many students actually speaking the questions unless I walked past them. Still trying different variations to get students to follow the rules better, but I only have 2 more classes playing the game this week so will probably just muddle through it and modify the game later. I can definitely seeing this work though if there are less students in the class.

Good lesson.  The students really get in to it at any level.
