I did this with my third grade studens.  They really were talkative during the exercise( in a good way).  Thanks

Just adding on to this topic...

British Council has a lot of great resources for a super hero themed class. I used this worksheet with my grade 3s & 4s. They really enjoyed being able to make their own super hero.

Also, if they would like to make their own super hero online here are two great sites:

http://learnenglishkids.britishcouncil.org/en/make-your-own/style-hero

http://www.ugo.com/games/superhero-generator-heromachine-2-5

I tried to use the second one with my students but there were just too many options. Thus, they were unable to come to final decisions about what they wanted as a class. I ended up just making my own and having them describe her to me.

I found a bunch of superhero-themed things from the teacher before me. Some are also from the British Council website, but I didn't see them in the link...so here they are!!

I want to do a superhero theme for my summer camp. Does anyone have any really creative worksheets that have successfully used in the past?

Hey,

I have done a series of lessons on Superhero's for grade 5/6 after school. It may work with grade 3/4 too. My lessons are 40 minutes long although the first class ended up going over two lessons. It covers using the sentences "he/ she is...", "he/ she wears..." and "he/she can..." and the vocab basic describing words, parts of superhero costumes, superhero skills and comic book language.

Lesson 1 (or maybe 1 & 2) - He/ She is a superhero (PPT, worksheet, guess who game)
Lesson 2 - He/ She wears (PPT, wordsearch, worksheet)
Lesson 3 - He/ She can (PPT, worksheet and charades)
Lesson 4 - Design a Superhero and write some basic sentences (PPT review then worksheet)
Lesson 5 - Make a Comic about your superhero (PPT then comic strip)

I made some wordsearches using http://www.toolsforeducators.com and downloaded a blank comic strip from google images but I haven't uploaded those. Attached are some worksheets I have made.

Hope this is of use.

Matty.
